16 PAEDIATRIC HABILITATION KidTrax KidTrax is a therapy product based on De Filippo and Scott s (1978) speech tracking approach. It aims to supply teachers and therapists with speech tracking materials for use with children. It is an evaluative tool to assess the ability of children with a hearing loss to understand connected speech. The books include bright attractive pictures and may be used for testing under auditory only or auditory- visual conditions. 17 PAEDIATRIC HABILITATION The Farmer s Cheese The Farmer s Cheese composed by Oliver Searle is a musical adaptation of a book by the same name. The musical was produced especially for children using a cochlear implant. It can be used by children to develop their own musical activi-ties, develop listening and the imitation and production of sounds and used as an introduction to musical instruments. The Farmer s Cheese is told in words, music and movement. The performance uses simple language, short structured sentences and repetitive clauses. 20 TEEN ASSESSMENT TeenEARS TeenEARS is a test battery specifically developed for teenagers with a cochlear implant. It can be used as a continuation of the MED-EL EARS test battery, or a stand-alone test battery. The battery is designed to test a broad range of listening skills, covering different levels of auditory skills and psycho-social issues. 23 ADULT ASSESSMENT The Munich Music Questionnaire The Munich Music Questionnaire is a validated research-based tool assessing the music listening habits of people with post-lingual deafness. 24 ADULT ASSESSMENT The Hearing Implant Sound Quality Index The Hearing Implant Sound Quality Index (HISQUI) is a validated questionnaire used to determine an individual s sound quality in daily life. HISQUI uses a seven point scale to determine a percentage value of the subjective sound quality. The HISQUI score gives clinicians an indication of how good or poorly users perceive sound quality in their personal, everyday listening situation with their hearing implant.
