The perfect building Schenker NV had already had over 30 years of experience in collecting, storing and distributing FMCG in Antwerp harbour, when it received a unique opportunity to integrate this experience and know-how in a new warehouse in This warehouse is tailor-made for fast moving consumer goods. The FMCG centre is a new state-of-the-art warehouse covering 85,000 m 2. It allows Schenker NV to offer clients flexible storage options in five different temperature zones ranging from -22 C to +18 C and ambient. The building complies with the most stringent environmental and quality standards and was designed especially to serve several FMCG clients. The system offers perfect traceability, ABC analyses of fast and more slow-moving goods, monitoring of expiry and sell-by dates, quarantine (upon the client s request), KPI measurements and much more; customised reports and web applications give clients real-time visibility so that they can monitor and improve their supply chain. A client-oriented service in a multi-client environment increases flexibility: multifunctional equipment and staff can be deployed where they are most needed. Each client has a permanent contact point for administration and a permanent contact point in the warehouse that is available at all times.
