Off-dock container storage Using container free time at the port can be a useful way to hold slower-moving stock without cost. However, charges beyond the free period can be high. We can store and manage your loaded containers, avoiding demurrage charges, by storing, off-dock, at our container depot at Tilbury. Our park can store up to 1,000 loaded TEU at any one time. We operate stateof-the-art heavyweight lifters to stack and store containers until you require them. We can also provide on-line, daily stock advice and monitor dwell times too, to prevent potential penalties for late restitution of containers. Heavyweight containers Take advantage of higher container payloads, if you can fill and ship more than 26 tonnes of cargo. We can shunt containers from the terminals to our warehouse and strip and store excess cargo to make up road-regulated, full loads at 44 tonnes, as required, so you cut down on containers and costs. This is ideal for shippers and receivers with regular volumes of high-payload cargo. We are fully equipped with fastlaneaccess to terminals, day and night with tugs, capable of shunting loads up to 45 tonnes gross, to position containers for unloading and cross-docking at our warehouse. Cross-dock and load consolidation Transporting containers direct to DCs provides security under seal but in many cases, boxes are required to be restituted back to port. Operating a large-scale, port-centric warehouse allows us to devan containers on arrival and consolidate over our cross-docks to provide DC or store-ready loads, saving time and money further down the supply chain. We can also deliver on a one-way basis only, which can be significantly more cost-effective too. Our warehouse is equipped with a docklevel door system designed to receive skeletal container and curtain-sided trailers, ensuring the rapid and damagefree transfer of cargo, from container, to floor, to curtain-sided trailer. Goods can be repacked or palletised, as required, to facilitate handling at your DC as part of this service. By processing containers at the port, boxes can be immediately restituted back into shipping line stock, without penalty.

3 Storage At Portside Logistics Centre, we can cater for palletised and non-palletised cargo covering short, medium and longterm storage requirements. We have a large, secure, open storage area, as well as covered storage options. Our open storage facility is designed for palletised cargo that doesn t require warehousing and is ideal for many types of building and landscaping materials, for example, blocks and bricks, roof tiles, stone paving and treated timber. Covering 200,000 m 2, our warehouse provides high-quality, port-centric storage space at Tilbury. The facility has six dock level doors as well as drive-through access to load and unload under cover, with the latest MHE for fast and efficient RHD operations. Modern, clean, and with high-value designated areas, our warehouse can be racked for palletised goods with up to10,000 pallet spaces, all controlled by a WMS to give you the visibility you need. Our open storage facility and shared-user warehouse work on a competitive, pay-as-you-go basis, so you only pay for the space you use, when you use it. Above all, you control the cost and the timing to ensure your goods arrive, just in time, to optimise your supply chain. 4 Container transport Curtain-sided distribution Intermodal As the largest container transport operator at Tilbury, we can provide direct deliveries from Tilbury to DCs throughout the UK with our flexible fleet of skeletal, draw-bar and combi-trailers. We can also provide transport on a live or drop-and-swap basis, creating a pool of trailers to provide a stock flow at your DC to enable you to prioritise the devan sequence. We can provide low CO 2 ST fulland part- load distribution, from our warehouse direct to your door, as part of a total solution. Our modern fleet of 13.6m trailers, the biggest in Tilbury, is purpose-built for chocked, pallet and roll cage operations and ideal for pay-asyou-go distribution. Cross-dock or store with us, and you only pay for loaded delivery miles. At the heart of our logistics hub at Tilbury is our Railport, (Tilbury International Rail Freight Terminal). Specifically built to receive and load cargo via the Channel Tunnel, the facility sits on the Tilbury chord, a spur off the main Network Rail Southend - London line. With direct access from Europe via the Channel Tunnel and the UK via London, our Railport is an ideal interchange for freight on rail. The terminal can accommodate longer trains up to 540m. We can receive any conventional train from Europe 9 6 containers, 9 1 swapbodies and rail wagons and the track is gauge-cleared for 9 6 containers to key UK centres. Rail wagons can be unloaded and transhipped direct to curtain-sided trailers for UK or European delivery under a covered platform. The Railport is joined to our warehouse with direct access to ensure the secure transfer of cargo. cargo consolidation and export containers at our warehouse too. We can collect from your door in our curtain-sided trailers and tranship to containers or you can deliver direct to our warehouse for packing. As with import containers, exporters can benefit with us by consolidating heavyweight loads for shipment to reduce the number of containers for export. We can also provide intermodal solutions for containers and swapbodies to all main UK rail hubs, SFRIs and where volumes permit, to private sidings too, through our train-operating partners. We can offer contract wagon space on existing services and explore options with you to meet your needs.
