4 BOBBY THE BUNNY Baby rabbits are called kittens! Start by laying out the body of the bunny using hexagon, sector and triangle. Outline the body using 5 squares and arch. There will be a gap. Repeat step one on top of the outline to create a solid shape. 4 Lay out the back legs using 6 triangles and squares. Lay out the tail using triangles and diamonds. Lay out the front legs using squares, rectangle and trapezoids. 4 IDEA BOOKLET

5 5 Pop up the legs and tail to form three D shapes. 6 Attach the tail to the back of the hexagon so that the diamonds point upward. Attach the legs to the bottom of the body. Connect super sectors to triangles for the ears and eyes. Attach triangle to the end of the arch for the nose, and use mini arches for the cheeks. FOREST FRIENDS SET 5

6 OLIVIA THE OWL Owls can turn their necks 70 degrees! 0 Create the silhouette of the owl using square, hexagon and trapezoid. Outline the silhouette using 9 squares and rectangle. Repeat step one on top of the outline to create a solid owl body. 4 Add mini arches to the sides of the head. Attach arches to each of the mini arches. Lastly, connect triangle to the face for the beak and for the head feathers. 6 IDEA BOOKLET

7 BART THE BAT Brown bats can catch,00 insects in one hour! 0 Lay out the bat s body using 6 triangles and rectangles. Fold up the pieces to form a pointed D shape. Lay out the two wings using triangles, diamond, isosceles triangle and trapezoid. Fold the pieces into a point. The loose triangle will help you connect it to the body. Attach the wings to the front of the body. Add two triangles for ears and sectors for the tail. FOREST FRIENDS SET 7

8 MAGGIE THE SQUIRREL Squirrels love nuts, but also eat insects! 6 Create the silhouette for the squirrel body using a triangle, hexagon, isosceles triangle and diamond. Outline the silhouette using rectangles and 8 squares. Repeat step one on top of the outline to create a solid shape. 4 Create the tail using triangles, super sector and sector. 8 IDEA BOOKLET

9 5 Outline the tail using squares, arches and super arch. 6 Repeat step four on top of the outline to create a solid tail shape. 7 Use 4 triangles to create a mini pyramid. Attach this to 4 more triangles for the squirrel s nut. Grab trapezoids for the arms and triangles for the ears. 8 Attach the trapezoids to the sides and the triangles to the head. 10 BETSY THE BUTTERFLY There are more than 5,000 species of butterflies! Lay out the butterfly body using rectangles and triangles. The wings will be assembled in two layers. The first layer is made of 5 triangles and a hexagon. The second layer is made of a hexagon, sector and diamond. + = X The wings attach to two corners of the body. 11 SALLY THE SKUNK Skunks spray their smell to defend from predators! 8 8 Start by assembling the head using sectors, square and arch. Lay out the body using squares, trapezoids and rectangle. Pull up from the middle square to form a D shape. Lay out two legs using triangles and squares. Pop up into a D form. 4 Attach the head to the body and both legs to the base. 12 DAVEY THE DUCK Duck feathers are waterproof! 8 7 Lay out the silhouette of the duck using triangles, hexagon, trapezoid and diamond. Outline the silhouette using rectangles and 8 squares. Repeat step one on top of the outline to form a solid shape. 4 Complete the duck by adding mini arches for the bill, arches for the wings and triangle for the tail. IDEA BOOKLET

13 TOMMY THE TURTLE The largest species of turtle weighs over 000 lbs! 7 Create the silhouette of the turtle using triangles, isosceles triangle, sector and super sector. Outline the silhouette using 5 squares, rectangle and super arch. Repeat step one on top of the ouline to form a solid shape. 4 Lay out the two front legs using diamond, triangle and square. Fold up into two D shapes. 5 Use triangles for the eyes, triangles for each back leg and triangle for the tail. FOREST FRIENDS SET

14 FRED THE FROG Frogs never close their eyes, even when they sleep! 8 Lay out the frog using rectangles, isosceles triangles, squares, diamonds and trapezoids. Fold the outer edges into a D shape. Assemble two legs using squares, sector, arch and triangle. Fold into D shapes using the triangles as the toes. 4 IDEA BOOKLET

15 Assemble the two eyes using triangles each. Lay out the back of the frog using 4 triangles. Use mini arches and triangles for the front legs. 4 Before attaching the front legs, attach two squares to the open gap on the body. Attach the front legs to the square. Connect the 4 triangles to the back. Attach the triangles to the sides of the diamonds as eyes. Finally, connect the back legs to the back of the body. FOREST FRIENDS SET 5
