1 Quick Installation Guide DVG-5102S VoIP Telephone Adapter Check Your Package Contents DVG-5102S VoIP TA Ether CAT5 UTP) Cable 12VDC, 1A Power Adapter Using a power adapter with a different voltage rating will damage this product and void the warranty.

2 Front Panel Hardware Overview 1. Power Indicator: Solid green light indicates a normal power supply. 2. Alarm Indicator: Red light indicates abnormal status, such as failed to register or provision or not obtained IP address. 3. Register Indicator: The Register LED will turn on when the VoIP Router is connected to a VoIP service provider. The LED will blink if not connected to a service provider. 4. LAN indicator: When a connection is established the LED will light up solid. The LEDs will blink to indicate activity. If the LED does not light up when a cable is connected, verify the cable connections and make sure your devices are powered on. 5. WAN indicator: When a connection is established the LED will light up solid. The LED will blink to indicate activity. If the LED does not light up when a cable is connected, verify the cable connections and make sure your devices are powered on. 6. Phone Indicator: Phone LED will light up solid if a phone connected to a phone port is off the hook or in use. When a phone is ringing, the indicator will blink. 2

3 Hardware Overview (continued) Rear Panel 1. Phone : Connect to your phones using standard phone cabling (RJ- 11). 2. WAN: Connect to your broadband modem or router using an Ethernet cable. 3. LAN: Connect to your Ethernet enabled computers using Ethernet cabling. 4. Power receptor: Receptor for the provided power adapter. 5. Reset Button: Press this button to restore factory default settings. 3

Insert one end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet (LAN) port on the back panel of the DVG-5102S and the other end of the cable to an Ethernet Adapter or available Ethernet port on your computer. B. Insert one end of the Ethernet cable into the WAN port on the back of the DVG-5102S and the LAN port of your router. C. Insert a telephone cable into the Phone port, and then connect the cable to your telephone. 4

Connect the power adapter to the power input at the back panel of the DVG-5102S and then plug the other end of the power adapter to a wall outlet or power strip. On the front of the device, the Power LED will turn on to indicate proper operation. E. Check the LED display on the front of the VoIP TA to confirm that the connections have been made. 5

6 Installing the Hardware (continued) After the installations are completed, your network should look similar to the diagram below. Hardware configuration is complete! If your VoIP service is already activated, you can make phone calls now. 6

7 Configuration To access the web-based configuration utility, set a statics IP on the LAN adapter, open a web browser such as Internet Explorer and enter the IP address of the DVG-5102S. *Statics IP: XXX, the XXX can be any number from 1~253 except 254 cannot be used* If the DVG-5102S is connected behind a router, the IP address of the router is determine by the router s DHCP Server. Open your Web browser and type into the URL address box. Press the Enter or Return Key. User name: User Password: [leave this blank] Click Login to enter Web Site. 7

8 Configuration (continued) The username of USER have been defined and locked by default. It is highly recommended to create a login password to keep your router secure at Maintenance Device Management User. Click Apply Save and Reboot Select your Internet connection type: DHCP Connecting the DVG- 5102S behind a router. Static IP Select if your ISP supplied you with your IP settings. PPPoE Most DSL ISPs. Select Manual to manually enter IP address of DNS or select Auto if DNS is assigned by ISP. 8
