4 GENERAL BREEDVELD & WEAVER HISTORY On 25 April 1955 the company was founded and seated in the heart of Rotterdam at the Bolwerk. At this time the only activities were repair and sales of hydraulic jacks, rolling and small tools for the automotive industry. In 1958 the company moved to a larger building of approximately 200m 2 in the Fabrieksdwarsstraat in Rotterdam with a small workshop for all kinds of hydraulics. Since 1960 the sale of hydraulic products had grown enormously and from that time on several wellknown hydraulic brands were sold and repaired. In de following years the company continued to grow and in 1970 it moved to Vlaardingen, a city at about 10 minutes from Rotterdam in the middle of of the Europoort. A building of 850m 2 was bought, with a workshop of 200m 2 equipped with lathes, drilling, sawing, welding and testing machines. In this workshop six technicians were active with the repairing, special new building and assembling of hydraulics. In 1990 the company moved to its present location of 2200m 2, featuring a sales department, an entire new workshop for special new building, assembly and repair of cylinders, pumps, power units, low and high pressure hydraulics, a service-workshop and a new warehouse for parts and seals in order to be able to work with more efficiency and to offer our clients more support and service. At this moment we have eight people at work at the sales and administration department and the repair/special new building/assembly department consists of twelve technicians. Today BREEDVELD & WEAVER is active in all sectors of industry, from the smallest workshop to the largest factory. On construction sites and offshore platforms, in research and test laboratories, power-stations and on chemical plants, in the automotive industry, astronautics and the national railroad the Nederlandse Spoorwegen and in the material handling industries. Wherever there is a need for hydraulic power the hydraulic products of BREEDVELD & WEAVER prove to be an effective solution! 14 Revision and repair of hydraulics REPAIR Already 50 years of experience in repairing hydraulic components. We are especially experienced in repairing hydraulic cilinders. Due to favourable prices and extensive stocks of chrome axles in various mm- and inch-sizes, we are able to give a quotation in advance. In consultation quick turnaround is possible. We also supply parts, seals, u-cups, wipers, o-rings and repair sets for various kinds of hydraulic equipment.

15 Revision/repair of hydraulic cylinders Our service and repair department is equipped with up-to-date tools, a testing installation and other facilities. A team of well trained hydraulic engineers ensures a skilled revision and/or repair of most hydraulic cylinders. Even when they are not originally supplied by us. Repair and/or overhaul of hydraulic cylinders is possible in most cases. It is therefore important to check if it is more profitable to repair and/or overhaul in case of failure or damage. Just contact our chief engineer for a repair cost quote. REPAIR Modifying and upgrading shafts/rods, seals, bearing strips are a part of our daily activities. We also have great expertise in repairing, remanufactoring and testing cylinders and parts to specifications of old, damaged or not available or discontinued types, and/or to your specific needs, and/or manufacturers specifications. Rebuilding of old or discontinued cylinders and/or parts to specifications of the old model or to your specific needs is also one of our specialities. Price quotes and continious evaluation will give you as customer insight the progress of the repair. Repaired and overhauled cylinders are returned with a standard test report on request. Certification surveys can also be conducted in co-operation with institutes like Veritas, D.N.V., Lloyds and T.N.O.

16 Repair of pumps, rams, etc. For servicing and repairing manual, pneumatic and electric driven pumps, rams, jacks, hydraulic equipment and tools of many brands we operate a seperate service repair department. Maintenance is an important issue and extends the lifetime of your hydraulic tools and equipment. Due to a extensive inventory, replacement parts, like hydraulic hoses, gauges and seals etc., can be installed quickly, which results in a minimum delay in your activities. The use of genuine seals and/or other service parts ensures a good and economical repair in most cases. REPAIR Our test facilities enable us to conduct various testing methods, like testing pumps up to 2800 bar and static rams up to 400 tonnes. Pumps, rams and mechanical jacks etc. should be dismounted, inspected and tested at least once every year by order of the Dutch Labour Inspectorate. We gladly carry out these services for you. Trade-in of equipment, pumps and/or pallet trucks that is damaged or needs to be repaired is possible. After assessment and an estimation of the repair costs a trade-in offer can be made on request.

17 Repair of pump units, valves, etc. For repairing, constructing and modifying electric driven pump units, valves and complete systems we operate a specialised department. On request we are able to conduct full or partial repair of the hydraulic system or unit. Even the annual maintenance and testing of your pumps and systems can be carried out by us. REPAIR For testing pumps and systems we use a PLC-controlled test facility. We are also able to revise large valves equipped with electric directional control valves which meet the EEx-d requirements. After repair and/or replacement the valves will be set, adjusted and tested.

20 Monopile upending and guidance system MPI "Resolution" During April 2005 the installation vessel of MPI the "Resolution" (TIV1) was fitted with a new monopile upending and guidance system, used for installing larger and heavier monopiles than being possible with the 350 tonnes revolving crane. These monopiles are used for the wind park Barness in Furness near the Isle of Man in the United Kingdom. The monopiles have a length of 60 mtrs, a diameter of 4.60 meters and a weight of 480 tonnes. The monopile upending and guidance system, classed by DNV, is equipped with hydraulic gripping and closing cylinders supplied by BREEDVELD & WEAVER.

21 The monopiles are loaded into the system using diepladers up to the point of overturn. A hydraulically controlled winch overturns and moves the system overboard, using the hydraulic cylinders for gripping and positioning the monopile. 22 Hydraulic tension in a modern glass roof The design of a new bank building in Madrid, Spain, incorporates a glass dome roof, with a minimum of glass panel joints. The construction of this glass roof embodies an architectural masterpiece. A steel tubular ring, made of large square tube segments, is mounted on top of a circular concrete wall. Specially made brackets, situated on the outside of the ring, are connected to the supporting structure of the roof, consisting of special rafters and wires, by 4 rods (M36), which are leading through to the inside of the steel ring. The large glass panels will be fitted to the rafters, creating the actual roof. Before the glass panels could be attached, the supporting structure, with a diameter of 31,1 meters, had to be simultaneously tensioned at 36 points. This was done by using the brackets and thirtysix 30 tonnes cylinders, after which the entire structure could be fastened, thus forming a rigid construction. The 36 ENERPAC single acting cylinders RCS 302, electric pump unit and hoses with a total length of 400 meters, including manifolds etc. were supplied by BREEDVELD & WEAVER. Also, the client participated in a operating and safety course, which contributed to a safe and smooth progress of the project, within the estimated time. 23 Side loader Hooymeijer is a transport company which focusses on special transports and loading and unloading of ships (stevedoring). One of the unique trucks Hooymeijer has developed is the side loader. This truck uses a side load system to load 20 feet containers with a maximum of 22 tonnes. The hydraulic cylinders and systems are supplied by BREEDVELD & WEAVER. 24 Hydraulic seafastening system installation vessel Marine Projects International constructs, installs and provides maintenance services for offshore wind parks in the Northsea and other regions. For constructing the foundations, installing the towers called monopiles and mountingthe turbines and rotors MPI developped the Turbine Installation Vessel 1 (TIV1) Resolution, a unique ship equipped with a hydraulic Seafastening system. BREEDVELD & WEAVER supplied the system with tonnes special double acting cylinders and tonnes special double acting cylinders. The special cylinders are furnished with several ceramic coatings. Before carrying out the various proceedings like installing the monopiles the vessel jacks up using eight extendable legs which are then hydraulicly fastened, thus creating a stable platform. 25 Salvaging freighter Tricolor On 14 December 2002 the Norwegian freighter Tricolor with a total length of 190 meters, sank as a result of a collision in thick fog out of the Belgian-French coast. Authorities ordered the Tricolor to be removed, as it was perceived to represent a danger to shipping and the environment. Because of its size and bad condition, the wreck could not be salvaged in one piece. It was cut into 9 sections using a cutting wire, after which the separate sections were transported to Zeebrugge for further scrapping on land. Prior to cutting the wire is strung under the wreck. During cutting the grit-covered bushes mounted along the high-tension steel cable are kept in place using 100 tonnes double acting hollow plunger rams, fitted with accumulators to maintain a constant pressure. These rams were supplied by BREEDVELD & WEAVER. 26 Allignment system wind turbine towers Some 10 kilometers off the coast of Arklow in the east of Ireland the first Irish offshore wind turbine park is being constructed by Airtricity consisting of 7 turbines, with a total capacity of 25,2 MegaWatts. The turbines, with a capacity of 3.6 MW, a weight of 290 tonnes and a rotor diameter of 104 meters are the single largest ever used. Prior to permantly installing the 72 meters high towers, called monopiles, with a base diameter of 5 meters, onto their seabed foundation, they have to be hydraulicly alligned. Again, BREEDVELD & WEAVER supplied the allignment systems consisting of 7 sets with a total of 42 single acting spring return cylinders including shut-off valves, hoses, connectors, manifolds and 7 two-stage hand pumps. 27 Allignment system wind turbine towers Some 7 to 8 kilometers off the North Wales coast between Prestatyn and Rhyl, a wind turbine park is being constructed, consisting of 30 wind turbines, with a total capacity of 60 MegaWatts. Prior to permanently installing the 67 meters high towers, called monopiles, with a base diameter of 4 meters, onto their seabed foundation, they have to be hydraulicly alligned. An ENERPAC allignment system, supplied by BREEDVELD & WEAVER, is used for this purpose. This system consists of 10 sets with a total of 60 cylinders including shut-off valves, hoses, connectors, 10 manifolds and 10 hand pumps. 28 J-Lay Tower IHC Gusto developed the Modular J-Lay Tower for Heerema, a system designed for subsea pipelaying, and can be mounted on a wide range of installation vessels. BREEDVELD & WEAVER suplied the eight 200 tonnes cylinders with a stroke of 50 mm, used for the pipeline fastening system of the tower. 29 Aquadigger Royal Boskalis Westminster is constructing Palm Island, an artificial island off the coast of Dubai, Middle-East. One of the unique vessels used is the Aquadigger. BREEDVELD & WEAVER carried out the overhaul and modified the large cylinders for use in these specific conditions like salt water and hard rock bottom. 30 Anchor chain cutter Offshore Rentals Ltd. supplies rental equipment for all aspects of oil and gas exploration. During maintenance large anchor chains are cut using two 500 tonnes double acting cylinders. BREEDVELD & WEAVER carried out a swift repair. Several weeks later this was rewarded with the order to supply 2 new ENERPAC electric high pressure pumps PPN 9483 with which a new system was built. 31 Hydraulic injection moulds oil and gas well cementing plugs Weatherford, a leading worldwide organisation in the oil and gas exploration, produces cementing plugs for oil and gas wells. The various plugs are produced using hydraulic operated injection moulds. The electric-hydraulic pump units, cylinders and controls of these systems were supplied by BREEDVELD & WEAVER. 32 Lifting highway viaduct BREEDVELD & WEAVER supplied Freyssinet (formerly Samaco) an ENERPAC lift system used for lifting a 2400 tonnes highway viaduct. The system consists of tonnes single-acting cylinders which have a stroke of 300 mm and are equipped with a lock nut, used for mechanicly locking the load during lifting. The systems also includes several pumps, hoses and other components for safely moving this viaduct. 33 Computer controlled testing BREEDVELD & WEAVER supplied Fa. Loggers with the ENERPAC computer controlled hydraulic testing system designed for testing rubber shock absorbers. Loggers manufactures absorbers which are used in a wide range of industries and branches like the offshore industry, defence market (in particular the Navy) and transport. During testing, the computer records pressure, distance and force with great accuracy and exports the results to a TXT-file, which can be imported in Excel to generate and print test graphs.
