If you don t you can potentially influence the operational reliability of the car. Do not make any changes to the supplied cable kit: The cables are optimised in relation to impedance and resistance. Therefore the cables are not to be extended, shortened or modified in any other way. General installation instructions 1. Turn off the engine 2. Look closely at the supplied cables and determine which cables are to be connected to what. In the following the correct installation is explained step by step. At this moment the Power Chip is not to be connected to the cable kit. Red Black Connection of cable kit Remove the engine shield. Chiptuning Direct ApS [email protected] Page 2

3 When you have removed the engine shield you see a round plug by the cylinder head. In transverse-engined cars (eg. VW Bora and Golf) the plug is placed to the left side of the engine block - looking in the driving direction. In longitudinal-engined cars (eg. Audi A4 and A6) the plug is placed at the front of the engine block - looking in the driving direction. 4 NOTICE! Make sure that you have heard the plug»click«into place. Otherwise you may risk that the chip does not function properly. ROUND PLUG Now, attach the cable kit s red cable to the positive battery terminaland the black cable to the grounding. It is very important that the the Power Chip is mounted in due distance of the engine and without risk of impact of water or vibrations! At last, check one more time that all connections are properly connected. Remount all removed shields and your Digital Power Chip is ready for use. Calibration of the Power Chip Bring the vehicle on operating temperature. (Approx 90C / 5 minutes). Switch off the ignition And install the Power Chip again. The calibration phase needs at least 45sec in th etick-over. As long as the LED s (red and yellow) flash alternately do not press the operatior. The module calibrates itself automatically. The calibration phase ends if the red LED lights up constantly and the yellow LED flashes. Switch off the ignition. Now the system is ready for the test run. Test and adjustment of the Power Chip The digital construction of the power chip allows you to choose the program which is best suited to your car model, engine capabilities and individual preferences. 5 Unplug the box from the cable lead. In one end of the box there is a transparent lid, remove this. Adjust the Power Chip by moving the jumper. When delivered the jumper is in position»t«, as illustrated below: Once the power chip is installed, check the correctness of all connections. Then the engine can be started. The program can be changed, if necessary. In some cars more powerful programs cause the exhaust smoke to appear. This is related to the error range of the sensor signals. To eliminate smoke a weaker program should be set.
