ON-THE-JOB TRAINING: 295A-1 Assess Customer Complaint or Need Assess customer complaint or needs by interviewing customer and by inspecting rims, tires, and under carriage so that recommendations for the work to be done can be determined and that these recommendations will satisfy the customer s complaints or needs and tires will meeting vehicle and DOT safety specifications. 295A-2 Jack, Hoist, and Secure Vehicle Jack and hoist the vehicle at the appropriate jacking points utilizing the proper equipment, such as hoists, jacks, jack stands, blocking or cribbing, and ensuring that the appropriate safety measures are used so that the vehicle is secure in a raised position to facilitate work on the wheel and rim assembly. 295A-3 Conduct Vehicle Inspection Conduct vehicle inspection by visually, manually, and mechanically inspecting tires, checking tire pressures, examining rim/wheels for damage, and inspecting the undercarriage of the vehicle. To determine whether or not the tire, rim, wheel assemblies meet manufacturer s specifications, to verify work order, instructions and to obtain customer authorization for additional work when necessary. 295A-4 Remove Tire and Wheel Assembly Remove tire and wheel assembly including the selection of correct tools, the removal of decorative covers, wheel security devices and related hardware, so that wheel assembly is not damaged and is free of the vehicle and ready for further inspection, repair, or replacement. 295A-5 Remove Dayton, Budd, and Motor Wheel Type Tires and Wheel Assemblies Remove dayton, budd, and motor wheel type tires and wheel assemblies, including the selection of correct tools and the removal of decorative covers, wheel security devices, clamps, spacers, washers, and wheel nuts so that dual wheel assemblies and mounting hardware are not damaged, the wheel assemblies are free of the motor vehicle and the procedures is performed in accordance with manufacturer s recommendations.

ON-THE-JOB TRAINING: (cont d) 295A-6 Demount Tire(s) From Single Piece Rims Demount tire(s) from single piece rims using manual techniques and tire changing machines which includes isolating the area nd type of repair, breaking the bead and prying the beads over the flange so that neither the tire or rim is damaged and ensuring that process is carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with equipment and tire manufacturer s recommended procedures. 295A-7 Demount Tire(s) from Multi-Piece Rims Demount tire(s) from multi-piece rims manually, which includes isolating the area and type of repair, breaking the bead, removing the lock rings and side rings, separating the back bead from the rim flange and removing the rim from the tire so that neither the tire nor rim components are damaged and ensuring the process is carried out safely and in accordance with equipment and tire manufacturer s recommended procedures. 295A-8 Demount Farm and Light Construction Rear Tires Demount farm and light construction rear tires from single piece rims using manual techniques, which includes isolating the area nd type of repair, handling and removing calcium, breaking the beads over flange so that neither the tire nor the rim is damaged and carrying out the process in a safe manner in accordance with equipment and tire manufacturer s recommended procedures. 295A-9 Demount Wheels From Vehicle and Tires From Five Piece Rims (OTR) Demount wheels from vehicle and tires from five piece rims (OTR) using boom trucks and hydraulic bead breakers by removing the tire from the vehicle, rigging, and slinging tires, breaking the beads removing the lock rings, rim flange and O-ring, separating the back bead from the rim and removing the rim from the tire so that neither the rim components nor the tire bead are damaged and carrying out the process safely and in accordance with equipment and tire manufacturer`s recommended procedure. 295A-10 Demount Tires From Five Piece Rims Without Removing Rim From Hub Assembly OTR) Demount tires from five piece rims without removing rim from hub assembly OTR) using boom trucks and hydraulics/air bead breakers which includes rigging and slinging tires, breaking the beads, removing the lock rings, rim flange, and o-rings, separating the back bead from the rim and removing the tire from the rim so that neither the rim components nor the tire bead are damaged and ensuring that the process is carried out safely and in accordance with equipment and tire manufacturer s recommended procedures.

ON-THE-JOB TRAINING (cont d) 295A-11 Repair Tires(s) Repair tires using manufacturer s specifications to determine if damage is repairable, and by subsequently selecting proper repair techniques, materials, and equipment to facilitate the repair so that the repair will return the tire to a safe and serviceable condition. 295A-12 Inspect and Perform Minor Repairs to Rims and Associated Components Inspect and perform minor repairs to rims and associated components which includes confirming wheel sizes and dimensions, type of wheel assemblies, such as aluminum, steel, O.E. or after market design, inspecting for damage, wear, and corrosion, particularly when calcium is exposed to metal surfaces, so that decision can be made whether or not rim is reusable and can be return to serviceable condition or if a replacement is required. 295A-13 Mount Tire(s) on Single Piece Rims Mount tire(s) on single piece rims using both manual techniques and tire changing machine which includes inspecting the tire casing, installing beads over rim flanges, inserting tube and/or flap, seating beads and inflating the tire to recommended tire pressure so that neither the tire bead nor rim flange is damaged, and ensuring that process is carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with equipment and tire manufacturer s recommended procedures. 295A-14 Mount and Install Tire on Multi Piece Rims In a Horizontal Position (OTR) and Vertical Position Mount and install tire on multi piece rims in a horizontal position (OTR) and vertical position using book trucks which includes inspecting the casing, selecting tools and lubricants, installing o-rings, lock rings and side rings, and inflating the tire to the recommended pressure so that neither the tire bead nor the rim components are damaged and ensuring the installation and inflation is carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with equipment and tire manufacturer s recommended procedures.

ON-THE-JOB TRAINING (cont d) 295A-15 Mount Tire(s) on Multi Piece Rims Mount tire(s) on multi piece rims manually which includes inspecting the tire casing, selecting tools and lubricants, installing tune and/or flap, installing lock rings and/or side rings, seating beads, and inflating the tire to the recommended pressure so that neither the tire bead nor the rim components are damaged, and ensuring the installation and inflation is carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with equipment and tire manufacturer s recommended procedures. 295A-16 Mount Rear Farm and Light Construction Tires Mount rear farm and light construction tires on single piece rims manually which includes inspecting lubricating rim flanges, rim base and bead, installing beads over rim flanges, inserting tubes, seating beads and installing calcium ballast so that neither the tire bead or rim flange is damaged, and ensuring the process is carried out safely and in accordance with equipment and tire manufacturer s recommended procedures so that vehicle is returned to a serviceable condition. 295A-17 Replace Solid Press On Tires For Industrial Vehicles Replace solid press on tires for industrial vehicles which includes removing the wheel and wheel hardware from the vehicle, operating hydraulic presses and pressing hardware, removing old tire and installing new tires so that neither the tire or wheel assembly is damaged, and ensuring that the process is carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with equipment and tire manufacturer s recommended procedures so that vehicle is returned to a serviceable condition. 295A-18 Replace Solid Industrial Tires On A Centre Split Rim Replace solid industrial tires on a centre split rim which includes removing the wheel and wheel hardware, operating hydraulic presses and pressing hardware, removing old tires and installing new tires so that neither the centre split rim or tire is damaged and ensuring the process is carried out safely and in accordance with equipment and tire manufacturer s recommended procedures so that vehicle is returned to a serviceable condition.

ON-THE-JOB TRAINING (cont d): 295A-19 Replace Solid Industrial Tires On Multi Piece Rims Replace solid industrial tires on multi piece rims which includes removing the wheel and wheel hardware, operating hydraulic presses and pressing hardware, removing old tires and installing new tires and removing and installing lock rings and side rings so that neither the multi piece rim or tire is damaged and ensuring the process is carried out safely and in accordance with equipment and tire manufacturer s recommended procedures so that vehicle is returned to a serviceable condition. 295A-20 Replace Pneumatic Tires On Industrial Divided Centre Two Piece Rims Replace pneumatic tires on industrial divided centre two piece rims which includes removing the wheel and wheel hardware, selecting the correct tools, breaking the bead, removing old tires, and installing new tires so that neither the rim or the tire is damaged, and ensuring the process is carried out safely and in accordance with equipment and tire manufacturer s recommended procedures so that vehicle is returned to a serviceable condition. 295A-21 Computer Balance Tire(s) Off Vehicle Computer balance tire(s) off vehicle so that tire life and ride comfort are obtained and the customer is satisfied that the repair rectifies the problem or need. 295A-22 Re-Install Tire and Wheel Assembly Re-install tire and wheel assembly by inspecting hub components and hardware for cracks, damage, or warping, special features such as locator pins and wheel accessories, and by making sure to clean and lubricate hub count area to ensure studs and nuts are re-usable so that wheel assembly can be returned to vehicle. 295A-23 Re-Install Dayton, Budd, and Motor Wheel Tires and Rim Assemblies Re-install dayton, budd, and motor wheel tires and rim assemblies on cast spokes or bus, which includes the selection of correct tools, the installation of decorator covers, wheel security devices, clamps, spacers, washers and wheel-nuts so that dual wheel assembly and mounting hardware is not damaged and ensuring the procedure is carried out safely and in accordance with equipment and tire manufacturer s recommendations and tightening specifications.

ON-THE-JOB TRAINING (cont d) 295A-24 Finish Balance On Vehicle Finish balance wheel assembly on vehicle to achieve a fine tuned balance which includes the balance of the tire, rim, hub, and drive line assemblies using either the strobe light or balancing head method, so that tire life, ride comfort and drive ability is improved. 295A-25 Conduct Final Inspection Conduct final inspection to ensure that work detailed on work order has been completed in a manner that meets with the standards established by the company and expected by the customer. 295A-26 Protect Self and Others Wear, adjust, and maintain safety clothing and equipment and protect self and others by careful handling of hazardous materials, report all hazards, remove obstacles and impediments and apply basic first aid in accordance with established safety procedures.
