9 Case: Network losses and hourly measures Network losses in general All the energy that is fed into the distribution network (entry points) but not delivered to the customers Major share of the loss energy is the losses in wires and transformers About three to five percent of the total energy (which is fed into the network) is lost Network loss reporting in Elenia AMR technology is used to measure network losses in hourly level In Elenia purchase of network losses has been based on hourly measures since April 2012 Information about network losses can be used in: Netowork planning Netowork operating Controlling of administrative losses

10 Case: Optimisation of outage management via AMR technology AMR-DMS integration allows the extension of remotely monitored network to cover the low voltage network - Verification of power supply at customer premises - Recognition of zero conductor faults, phase faults and faults in the customer network - Location of broken medium voltage conductors Shortens outage duration and improves efficiency Improves customer service Reduces unnecessary visits to customer sites Improves safety Remotely monitored network with AMR-DMS integration Remotely monitored network earlier High voltage network Medium voltage network Low voltage network Substations Distribution transformers Customers

Same real-time information available transparently to our contact centre, dispatch centre, customers and media.
