2 Microsoft Office In order to remain competitive in the ever changing computer world AVImark must stay current with the latest updates in the Operating System, and other Hardware/Software, that our clinics use. AVImark assumes that all clinics are also staying current with the latest free updates and service packs provided by Microsoft. If you have any questions please contact Technical Support at General Settings for Microsoft Office: Update your version of Microsoft Word/Office using the free updates provided via the Internet. Make sure that the File Locations are set to the local computer. Make sure AVImark is not utilizing mapped drives this type of connection can produce issues with Microsoft Word. If you are running more than one version of a word processing product they can conflict with each other and cause errors. 1

3 General Settings for Microsoft Office 2002: Note: the following are the recommended versions for this product Office 2002 Standard, 2002 Small Business, and 2002 Professional. To check File Locations in Microsoft Office 2002 do the following steps:.. 3. Click File Locations. 4. Select Documents in the File types list. 5. Left Click Modify (Use the navigation controls to select the new location for your files.). To check activation in Microsoft Office 2002 do the following steps: 2. Left Click Activate Product To check disabled items in Microsoft Office 2002 do the following steps: 2. Left Click About Microsoft Word 3. Left Click Disabled Items (Highlight the disabled item.) 4. Left Click Enable How to check macro settings: To check macro settings in Microsoft Office 2002 do the following steps: 3. Left Click on the Security tab 4. Left Click Macro Security 5. Select the appropriate level of security (default is High) Note: Security levels above Low may cause a prompt to enable macros when opening a document. This prompt may interfere with opening documents in AVImark How to check document protection: To check document protection in Microsoft Office 2002 do the following steps: 2. Left Click unprotect Document 2

Left Click File Locations 3. Left Click Modify (Chose the directory you want.) 4. Left Click OK on each of the dialog boxes to close them To check activation in Microsoft Office 2003 do the following steps: 2. Select Word Options 3. Left Click Save 4.
