2 The Monet Waterlily Festival -- French Market and Art Gallery (outdoor art festival), is a Fine Art juried event which will take place during our French inspired festival at Gibbs Gardens. Gibbs Gardens is an award- winning "World Class Garden" located in Ball Ground, Georgia one hour north of Atlanta. Gibbs Gardens features 220 acres of gardens in the rolling hills of North Georgia, designed to offer beauty during four seasons. The Gardens are featured regularly on national and regional TV and in print media. It is also the site for major motion pictures and TV series. The Waterlily Festival features over 150 waterlilies blooming around a replica of the Japanese bridge in Monet s Garden outside of Paris. Visitors to the gardens come from all over the world. Drawing on the tradition and history of the French in recognizing the arts, the Gallery (outdoor arts festival) will showcase a wide variety of artistic disciplines including painting, clay, glass, photography, metal, drawing, wood, fiber, sculpture and printmaking. ARTIST SERVICES: Overnight security. Morning hospitality with coffee and donuts. Discount rates at participating hotels. Parking information will be forthcoming in artist acceptance packet and/or check-in packet. Booth Sitters are available during event hours upon request. SET UP: Friday, September 23 4:00 pm 8:00 pm Saturday, September 24 7:00 am 8:30 am Friday, September 31 4:00 pm 8:00 pm Saturday, October 1 7:00 am 8:30 am No staking of tents, canopies or panels. Please come prepared with appropriate weights. No campers or RV s. No sleeping overnight within the grounds of Gibbs Gardens. No rollerblades, scooters, segways or bicycles are permitted on the grounds. No pets are permitted on the grounds unless they are specifically trained for and used as a service animal. Failure to follow restrictions will result in disqualification.

3 CATEGORIES: Our show is designed for artists who create and execute original, professional quality work. All work displayed MUST be produced by the exhibiting artist or a two-person team and MUST be consistent with the images submitted. Artist may only exhibit art in the category in which they were accepted. 2-D MIXED MEDIA Two dimensional, wall hung artwork using a combination of two or more distinct media in a collage-type manner. CLAY Original sculptural, decorative or functional work in which the primary material used is clay. No machine made or mass produced items. All artwork must be signed by the artist. DRAWING / GRAPHICS / PRINTMAKING Original works made with pen, pencil, color pencil, charcoal or traditional printmaking techniques, including etching, engraving, lithography, serigraphy, or woodcuts. Combination techniques / collages are also included. Original prints must be signed and numbered. FIBER / LEATHER Original work created from fibers or leather. Includes basketry, handmade paper, weavings, and other artistic, fabric-based work. All work must be designed and sewn by the artist. No commercial, mass produced items permitted. GLASS Original sculptural or decorative work created in glass. No molds or other forms of mass production permitted. All work must be signed by the artist. METAL Original sculptural or decorative items created in metal. May be painted or unpainted. No commercial or volume production items. All work must be signed by the artist. PAINTING - OIL / ACRYLIC Original work created using oil / acrylic or similar materials on canvas, paper or board. Combination techniques / collages of these materials are also included. PAINTING - WATERCOLOR / PASTEL Original work created using watercolor / pastel or similar materials on canvas, paper or board. Combination techniques / collages of these materials are also included. PHOTOGRAPHY / DIGITAL ART Original artwork created by the artist / photographer utilizing an SLR or Digital camera, or computer-generated image, and printed with either traditional darkroom, ink-jet or laser printing technologies. No commercial photography. Original prints must be signed and numbered. Only one framed piece of each image may be hung on the walls of the booth. WOOD Original sculptural or decorative work made primarily from wood. Includes hand-tooled, carved or machine worked items, with either natural or painted finish. No commercial or volume production items. NO JEWELRY IS BEING ACCEPTED FOR THIS EVENT.

4 RULES AND REGULATIONS: Artists accepted for participation MUST be in attendance during the entire festival. Only one artist may display in a booth unless the work produced is a collaboration of two artists. Both artists must sign the application and be present during entire festival. No agents, dealers, or representatives may attend in place of the artist(s). Work by apprentices or employees will not be accepted. 1. The Festival provides only the ground space for exhibits. Each Exhibitor must provide and prepare his/her own displays. We require Exhibitors to use white top tents of E-Z UP quality or higher. All tents must be weighted (minimum of 40 pounds per tent leg). NO STAKING IS PERMITTED. 2. Two weeks prior to the Festival, Exhibitors will be notified of their site location and will be provided detailed set-up information. 3. After unloading, Exhibitor vehicles must be moved to designated parking. Vehicles will not be permitted to remain in the exhibition space during the Festival, nor may they enter the Festival unloading zone until approved by a Festival Committee representative. 4. Exhibitors shall be responsible for obtaining any required licenses, permits or approvals under state laws applicable to his/her activity at the Festival and for paying any taxes, sales taxes, fees or other charges that may be applicable to any Exhibitor's activity at the Festival. 5. The Festival is a rain or shine event. 6. All Artist Market merchandise must be original, handmade and created by the Exhibitor. Reproductions must be clearly identified as such. All artwork on display must be for sale. 7. PROHIBITED ITEMS: T-shirts and commercial clothing, posters, manufactured toys, commercially manufactured or reproduced items (resale) and/or any item that employs the use of commercially available molds or patterns. 8. Artists may only show work in categories approved by the Jury. 9. The performance of this Agreement is subject to termination without liability upon the occurrence of any circumstance beyond the control of either party such as acts of God, war, government regulations, disaster, or civil disorder to the extent that such circumstance makes it illegal or impossible to provide or use Gibbs Gardens facilities. However, Exhibitor understands that all functions are being held in an outdoor venue and any and all functions could be significantly impacted by inclement weather 10. Exhibitor understands that no electrical access will be provided by Gibbs Gardens and any Exhibitor needs must be satisfied via generators supplied by the Exhibitor. ONLY UL-approved, outdoor approved extension cords that are free of any deficiencies. In addition, vendors utilizing electricity must position their extension cords in locations that do not create a trip-hazard. 11. Gibbs Gardens is not responsible for any damaged, lost or stolen merchandise or equipment owned by the Exhibitor and/or suppliers. 12. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on Gibbs Gardens property. There are no designated smoking areas inside Gibbs Gardens and this policy is strictly enforced. 14. Attachments to any Gardens structure or plant material are not permitted. 15. For the safety of all, Exhibitors are prohibited from using any candles as part of their display. 16. The Festival reserves the right to cancel an Exhibitor's contract. The Festival may require the Exhibitor to leave the Festival at any time if the Exhibitor is in violation of any rules and/or regulations stated herein.

5 APPLICATION PROCESS: By mail: Submit signed application, jury/application and booth checks (must be separate checks), 4 photos (4X6 only) including one of the outdoor booth display and three photos of the individual art pieces and a selfaddressed stamped envelope. Accepted artists understand and agree that images of their work may be used by the show promoter for the sole purpose of marketing the event. DEADLINES: Application deadline: August 1, 2016 Jury dates: August 20, 2016 Acceptance fees will be deposited: August notification of acceptance: September 1, 2016 Booth refund: September 1, 2016 Wait list notifications: October 1, 2016 FEES: Jury Fee: $25 Booth Fee for one weekend: $150 Booth Fee for both weekends: $250 Double Booth Fee: $300 per weekend CANCELLATIONS: Cancellations for full booth refunds will be accepted if cancellation notification is received via by carol@gibbsgardens.com by September 1, No refunds will be given for cancellations after the 30-day deadline date or for no-shows. Describe your work: Special Request: LIABILITY WAIVER: The applicant agrees for itself and/or its employees, agents or volunteers associated or to be associated with the activity for which this application is being sought, to waive and relinquish all claims that may result in a manner against Gibbs Gardens, LLC, its owner, employees, agents and authorized volunteers from the said applicant except for acts caused by the willful and wanton misconduct by employees of Gibbs Gardens acting within the scope of their employment. HOLD HARMLESS: The applicant agrees for itself and/or its employees, agents or volunteers associated or to be associated with the activity for which this application is being sought, to indemnify and hold harmless Gibbs Gardens, LLC, its owner, employees, agents and authorized volunteers from and against any and all legal actions, claims, damages, losses or expenses arising out of the permitted activity or any activity associated with the conduct of the applicant s operations, including but not limited to claims of personal or bodily injury, disease or death, or injury to or destruction of property, excluding claims caused by the willful commission or omission by employees of Gibbs Gardens acting within the scope of their employment.
