Bio: Mr. Araújo has been the Secretary of Local and Regional Development for the State of Ceara since Among other responsibilities, his secretariat is responsible for managing the states Rural Poverty Program (financed by the World Bank), The Sustainable Local Development Program (financed by the German Government) and the Urban Development and Water Resources Management Program (also financed by the World Bank). From 1999 to 2003 he was appointed the head of the Research and Information Institute of the State of Ceara (IPLANCE) responsible for analysis of the state s public policies, and coordinated the state s Strategies for Poverty Reduction in Ceara policy document. Prior to his state appointments, he worked in corporate finance for the Northeast Development Bank of Brazil (BNB).
