17 04/022 ESR Elecronic Safey Engineering Applicaions Safey caegory Funcion Conacor Elecronic safey relays are used for monioring safeyrelaed conrol sysems. The requiremens for he elecrical equipmen of machines are specified in IEC/EN EN sipulaes ha machine users mus carry ou a risk assessmen of machines and implemen a conrol sysem ha mees he requiremens of safey caegories 1, 2, 3, or 4. Consrucion The elecronic safey relays consis of a power secion, he elecronics and wo redundan relays wih inerlocked opposing conacs for he enabling- and signalling pahs. Produc range overview The range includes relays for: Emergency-Sop circuis The ESR elecronic safey relays are approved by employers' liabiliy associaions and mee he requiremens of safey caegory 3 or 4. The safey caegory of he conrol sysem is deermined by he combinaion wih he exernal circuiry, for which he machine operaor is responsible. The elecronic safey relays are single-faul proof, i.e. one faul in he safey circui does no cause hazardous condiions. EN excludes he possibiliy of wo independen fauls occurring a he same ime. Sop caegory IEC/EN sipulaes wo relevan sop caegories for sopping in he even of an emergency: Sop caegory 0: sopping by means of immediae removal of he power supply o he machine acuaors.
