1 General Information on Structure for ETV Teacher Recertification Courses ETV Teacher Recertification courses are provided by ETV Education for South Carolina educators and approved for renewal credit by the SC Department of Education Office of Educator Services. ETV Teacher Recertification courses for One-hour/20 renewal credit (Annenberg and Other ETV courses): All one-hour/20 renewal credit courses are provided in five, 6-8 week-long sessions: FALL, WINTER, SPRING I, SPRING II, and SUMMER. (NO graduate credit offered.) All one-hour/20 renewal credit courses are self-paced and facilitated online in Moodle. Participants may complete their work ahead, but all work and evaluation must be completed by designed end date for each session. All one-hour/20 renewal credit courses contain between 8-16 video lessons each, which totally equals approximately 8-10 hours of viewing. (For the Annenberg courses, the link to access the video lesson will take you to the Annenberg site to view the video lesson. Be sure to come back to the ETV Moodle site to answer the discussion topic question.) After viewing each video lesson online, you then answer a discussion topic question about that video lesson. Your response should be at least 100 words. (If more videos in the course, then you are directed to limit response to less or there is not length requirement it will tell you.) As you view video lessons and answer question on each video for your discussion topic posts, your responses are read and rated by course facilitator on a pass/fail basis. During the course, you are also encouraged to respond to other class participant s discussion topic posts. Once you complete all course work successfully by the designated end of session, you must complete the final course evaluation, providing your input on course by answering a few questions. Once we sign off that you have completed the evaluation, your certificate of completion will unlock and you may print it. (It is your responsibility to provide copy of certificate(s) of completion to SDE Office of Educator Services and/or their school district.) ETV Education will send a list of all completers to SDE Office of Educator Services within 10 working days after the course-end date. ETV Teacher Recertification courses for 3 hours/60 renewal credits: Currently, only three-hour course offered is Natural History In and Out of the Classroom with Rudy Mancke. This course is only offered in FALL and/or SPRING I session(s). (We must have 10 enrolled to provide.) Course is self-paced, but there are deadlines during the session when you must turn in assignments. SEE course synopsis for requirements and deadlines.
