5 Warranties Metal Roofing Finish Warranties: What is covered? GALVANIZED - Steel substrate coated with molten zinc in a hot bath dip action providing a coating thickness of.90 ounces of zinc (G90) per square foot of panel top and bottom. Warranty - NONE Coverage - NONE Properties - Galvanized coating is roughly 98% zinc with a small amount of silicon to promote proper flow. The shade and spangle (patchy appearance of the coating) are due to impurities in the zinc and can vary. Zinc coating is a sacrificial weak metal coating that will sacrifice itself to protect the noble metal (in this case steel) from galvanic chemical reaction accelerated by moisture from humidity, condensation, rain, and snow. 2 YEAR GALVALUME - Steel substrate coated with a molten hot dip action providing a coating thickness of. ounces of zinc/aluminum (AZ) per square foot of panel top and bottom.
