1 2 System Requirements and Authentication 2.1 System Requirements Getting started in BOCNET (Corp.) is quick and easy. We strongly recommend that the operating computers of BOCNET (Corp.) users should satisfy the following requirement: Software requirements: Best viewed with Windows + Internet Explorer 8 Screen resolution setting should be 1024 x 768 or above Browser should support SSL 256 bit encryption, JavaScript, Cookies and Applet If using E-Certificate, have to operate under Windows with Internet Explorer and the equipment have to install the Card Reader Package provided by esigntrust as well as Sun Java Runtime (Java 7 should be installed while the Browser is Internet Explorer 9 or above) Regardless of having 32-bit or 64-bit Windows, computer has to install the 32-bit Java version, which is provided by esigntrust driver package or self downloaded, for the use of E-Certificate. 2.2 Authentication Authentication Combination Apart from using simple authentication (username and password of customer s choice) to access the BOCNET (Corp.) service and/or to authorize transaction(s), BOCNET (Corp.) has introduced a Two-Factor Authentication tool offering increased protection. Additional digital certificate (namely e-certificate ) is required for BOCNET (Corp.) operations. To protect against unsecure online banking, BOCNET (Corp.) provides three authentication combinations for customers to choose: 7/104

2 Authentication Combination Combination 1 Combination 2 Combination 3 Login System Authentication Login Password Login Password Login Password and e-certificate Transaction Authority Authentication Transaction Password e-certificate e-certificate Upon the time of BOCNET (Corp.) application, customers are free to choose any one of the combinations mentioned above, in accordance with their precise needs. Combination 2 and Combination 3 require the use of Two-Factor Authentication. Warm Reminder: Authentication combination will be homogeneously applied to all types of users registered by the customer, for instance, if customer has selected combination 2, all BOCNET (Corp.) users have to use e-certificate for transaction authorization e-certificate Introduction and Preparation BOCNET (Corp.) is adopting e-certificate issued by esigntrust, which is a subsidiary of Macau Post of Macao Special Administration Region, as a two-factor authentication device verified by third party (Macau Post). The embedded digital signatory in such e-certificate is the only e-signature accepted by the Macao Law No. 5 / 2005 and its application to customer's electronic transactions would have the equivalent legal status as signature notarization. To apply for the e-certificate, customer can visit the esigntrust registration center or browse the esigntrust website for more details, 8/104

3 Should Authentication Combination 2 or 3 has been chosen e-certification authentication is essential. Before getting started in BOCNET (Corp.), the e-certificate driver shall be properly installed to users computers in accordance with the instruction provided by the esigntrust official website. In addition, user has to ensure his/her e-certificate device has been properly inserted into a USB port of the computer before any attempt to log in/ authorize transaction(s) using the e-certificate authentication Examine Java Version Customers can examine whether they are using the proper Java version with the following methods. We take Windows XP operating system for illustration: (1) Go to the Control Panel, double click on the Java icon 9/104

5 (2) Select Java tab and then click on View under the Java Applet Runtime Settings. 1 Warm Reminder: 2 Please to be advised that if more than one Java version have been installed to your computer, we recommend that only the suitable version should be turned on (If the browser is IE 9 or above, Java 7 or above version is required to be used). 32-bit Java version should be installed regardless which version of the Windows operating system has been installed (For both 32-bits and 64-bits Windows operating system the 32-bits version of Java should be installed). 11/104
