3 All students transferring to City College of San Francisco (CCSF) from another educational institution within the USA must submit this completed form to the International Student Programs office to complete the application requirement. Students must complete Section 1 and give this form to the International Student Advisor/Designated School Official at the current institution to complete Section 2. Please allow at least 10 working days after the SEVIS release date for the I-20 to be issued. Return this completed form to the International Student Programs office via fax ( ), scan & , mail by post, or in-person. Students, please be reminded of the following: You are responsible to request your current institution to release your SEVIS record to CCSF. Please verify if you have been accepted to CCSF and are sure you will attend CCSF before requesting a transfer of your SEVIS record. Once your record has been released to CCSF, you must enroll for the next available term to maintain your F-1 status. If your current F-1 status is terminated, CCSF reserves the right to deny your terminated SEVIS record. Depending on the circumstances, you may be required to exit and re-enter the U.S.A. with a new initial I-20 before you are allowed to begin classes. 4 New International Student Mandatory Orientation All new international students attending City College of San Francisco (CCSF) must attend the mandatory orientation. Failure to attend IN PERSON or miss any part of the orientation sessions will prevent you from registering for classes. This means you are not allowed to be late or to leave early. There are no exceptions. Orientation & Registration Information (Step 1) Take a Placement Exam Date & Location: Monday, July 18, 2016 to Friday, July 22, 2016 at CCSF Ocean Campus Please sign up online at: Your CCSF student ID number should or Wxx-xx-xxxx, which is indicated on your white matriculation card. You will receive an confirmation in hours to the address submitted with the online registration form (please be sure your address is correct). Date & Location: Monday, July 18, 2016 at Conlan Hall Front Lobby Time: Please report at 8:30 a.m. and exam will end at around 12:30 p.m. Please bring your passport or U.S. Legal Photo I.D. & white matriculation card) Students are required to take the placement exam which will assist the International Student Counselors in advising you in selecting the appropriate classes in English, ESL, Mathematics, and other classes. Information about the Placement Exam, Placement Exam Waiver, and other Exams: (Please do not attend the orientation listed in the above website, as it is for non-international students new to CCSF only. Rather, you must attend the orientation sessions and meet with the international students counselors as listed below) (Step 2) Date & Location: Tuesday, July 19, 2016 & Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at MUB Room 140 Attend New Time: Sign-in will be between 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and sessions will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end Student around 12:00 noon each day. (Please bring your passport or U.S. Legal Photo I.D. ) Orientations Continental breakfast will be served on both days. (Step 3) Date & Location: Anytime between 1 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 Meet with a OR anytime between 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2016 Counselor OR anytime between 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2016 at MUB Room 125 Time: You will be assigned an appointment at the end of the orientation session on July 20, 2016, and you will have a minute appointment. Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment. (Step 4) Register for Classes Register for classes online (WEB4) as soon as you have met with the international student counselor and have purchased your CCSF health insurance because classes get full very quickly. You must know your CCSF student ID number and have a local U.S. address to purchase the CCSF health insurance plan before you can register for classes. 5 Housing Information *This information is for reference only* Finding a place to live in San Francisco can be difficult. If you are in need of a place to stay, please use this information to assist you. CCSF does not provide any on-campus housing. The three (3) main options that students choose are the following: I. HOMESTAY These are carefully selected families who provide a furnished single room with two meals per day or breakfast only. Students can learn more about American culture and are more easily immersed in life in the United States. SHARED HOUSING Students who wish to share an apartment with other students or to rent a room from people can utilize the Bulletin Board in the International Education Office (Cloud Hall, Room 212).
