3 SPEAKER BIOS Denise Abraham Page 3 Health Information Exchange Coordinator, The Washington Hospital Denise Abraham, RN, MS is the Health Information Exchange Coordinator for The Washington Hospital. She is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, and has a MS in Nursing Administration from the University of Maryland. She has over 30 years experience in various acute care, long term care and ambulatory settings as well as health care administration. She has coordinated various clinical integration projects to address care coordination across the continuum, clinical resource management, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, pay for performance and health information technology adoption initiatives. She is the project lead for implementation of the Washington Health Information Network (WHIN), a local health information exchange that utilizes EHR interfaces as well as a web-based portal to connect over 100 physician practices and other regional providers with the various facilities affiliated with The Washington Hospital. Christopher Burt Vice President of Product Development, Technology Development Center, UPMC As Vice President of Product Development, Mr. Burt is responsible for driving product development for the TDC. He provides leadership, management, and vision to ensure that innovative solutions are developed within the TDC that meet high quality and reliability standards and are easily deployed and maintained in the field. Additionally, he collaborates with the TDC President in leading the organization toward achieving its business goals. Mr. Burt has twenty years of healthcare informatics experience working for IDX Systems Corporation, Dynamic Imaging, and GE Healthcare in a variety of leadership positions in engineering management, product management and program management. He has extensive experience in the healthcare industry and has led the development and launch of multiple new products within the medical imaging informatics domain. Prior to joining UPMC in this TDC role, Mr. Burt most recently served as Vice President of Product Development for SmartRoom, a UPMC-owned company. Mr. Burt has a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

4 Geoffrey Camp Page 4 Family Physician, Penn Plum Family Medicine UPMC, Chief Medical Information Officer, UPMC Health Plan Geoffrey Camp, MD is a practicing family physician at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center ("UPMC"), and the Chief Medical Information Officer with UPMC Health Plan of the UPMC Insurance Services Division. UPMC is the largest integrated health care delivery system in Pennsylvania and one of the leading nonprofit medical centers in the country. Dr. Camp provides medical informatics leadership to the development of Health Plan clinical applications, both for internal use and external audiences. The Insurance Services Division, having developed its own proprietary care management software system and associated clinical information applications, is tightly engaged with the UPMC Enterprise Systems & Data Management group to develop meaningful integrated patient information sharing for system-wide operational and analytical use. Dr. Camp is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, which first brought him to Pittsburgh. He started his informatics career while a chief resident at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital, helping drive the successful first implementation of computerized provider order entry within UPMC's electronic health record solution. From 2006 through 2012, he served as Chief Medical Information Officer for the hospital and was involved in numerous UPMC system-wide initiatives, including clinical decision support optimization, order set standardization, upgrade deployment, and customized views. In addition to his clinical practice and CMIO role, Dr. Camp participates in UPMC's enterprise-level informatics teams and has a keen interest in expanding the possibilities inherent in robust, meaningful sharing of data across the enterprise, in particular with an eye towards enhancing point-of-care utility, comprehensive patient-level clinical decision support, analytics for accountable care, and population management. Sharon Dorogy Director of Information Systems and the HIPAA Security Officer at The Children's Institute of Pittsburgh She also oversees the Library and the Health Information Management (HIM) departments. Ms. Dorogy has been with The Children's Institute for 15 years, previously holding other information technology roles with Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, Union Switch & Signal and Westinghouse Electric Corporation. She holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science and an M.Ed. degree from the University of Pittsburgh. With her career spanning 30 years in information technology (IT), she has focused the last 20 years specifically in the IT healthcare arena. Ms. Dorogy is an active member of the Pennsylvania ehealth Initiative (PAeHI), HIMSS and CHIME. She has held several leadership and committee roles with the Western PA Chapter of HIMSS and PAeHI. As a charter member of the PAeHI organization, she has served on its membership committee, was elected to its board of directors in January 2009, and currently has the honor of serving as the chair of the PAeHI board of directors. Her interest and experience with information systems, the electronic medical record and HIPAA have enabled her to be called upon to speak at several public forums. In addition to co-chairing the CI Compliance Team, she is also credited with directing the selection and implementation of a facility-wide electronic medical record at The Children's Institute of Pittsburgh. In addition, she recently led the startup of a local health information exchange effort with one of The Children's Institute's strongest referral sources.

5 Linda Hogan, PhD Director, Faculty Development, Family Medicine Teaching Fellowship at UPMC- St. Margaret Page 5 Dr. Hogan provides continued development of faculty teaching, scholarly activity and leadership skills and advance the academic environment of the Fellowship and Residency Programs in Family Medicine, Pharmacy, Geriatrics and Sports Medicine. Specific responsibilities to UPMC include curriculum development, grant writing, teaching and consultation activities. In her previous positions, Dr. Hogan was a founding Professor of Medicine for The Commonwealth Medical College (TCMC) in Scranton, PA. She also served as TCMC's Assistant Dean for Medical Informatics and adjunct professor to the graduate school at the University of Scranton. Before joining TCMC, Dr. Hogan was Vice President, Clinical Operations & Informatics at UPMC - Mercy. She received her bachelor's degree in statistics from Carnegie-Mellon University; her master of science and her doctorate degree in information sciences from the University of Pittsburgh. Augusta "Gus" L. Kairys Vice President of Provider Technology and Strategic Partnerships at Highmark Inc. This includes responsibility for development, implementation and ongoing maintenance and operation of provider facing technology applications. She has previously held the positions of Vice President of Provider Network Management, Provider Relations and Provider Contracts, Director of Provider Contracts and Manager of Reimbursement Programs at Highmark, and National Accounts Manager for the "Blues" at Corning Clinical Laboratories. Prior to entering the healthcare arena, she spent 10 years with the investment firm, Smith Barney. Lisa Khorey Vice President of Enterprise Systems and Data Management, UPMC Lisa Khorey has spent the last 20 years in various roles in Information Technology to integrate electronic medical records and automate workflow processes at UPMC. Ms. Khorey currently serves as the Vice President of Enterprise Systems & Data Management at UPMC-the largest integrated health care delivery system in Pennsylvania and one of the leading nonprofit medical centers in the country. UPMC is a $7.4 billion, 45,000- employee organization that serves the health needs of more than 4 million people each year. Ms Khorey began her career as a financial systems programmer, later transitioning to systems administrator, and then making a switch to healthcare in the mid 1990s when she came to The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Children's Hospital, formerly Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. After completing her MBA at Duquesne University, she spent the last decade in IT leadership at UPMC, including two years as the CIO for UPMC community hospitals. One of

6 the original UPMC Cerner inpatient medical record implementation team members, she built a group of fifteen interface analysts who engineered and franchised integration across two hundred disparate systems and developed more than a thousand interfaces. Participating in Rapid Design Sessions across the enterprise and working closely with clinicians have proven instrumental in developing her broad view of workflow and opportunity for process improvement through the use of technology. In her current role spearheading UPMC's evolution to enterprise-wide interoperability, Ms. Khorey leads a team of technical and clinical analysts, programmers, and physicians, whose goals include the broad span of legacy integration using HL7, aggregation of all electronic data into UPMC's interoperability platform, intelligent presentation of clinical data to support the patient in the transition of care, and the development of advanced analytics across the continuum of care. Looking toward the delivery of completely connected healthcare in 2015, Ms. Khorey's and her team are enabling UMPC to aggregate medical data throughout the enterprise and beyond, to deliver useful and meaningful electronic health record data to community providers in their native workflow system and to patients and their families in their Personal Health Record. Page 6 Lee Kim, Esq. Tucker Arensberg, P.C., Pittsburgh Lee's practice includes healthcare and health information technology ("HIT") law. She assists clients with electronic health record ("EHR") licensing, technology service contracts, cloud computing provider contracts, HIPAA Privacy and Security Rule and HITECH Act compliance, audits, and training. She is President-Elect of the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. She previously worked in the HIT field. Don Levick. MD, MBA Donald Levick, M.D., MBA Practicing Pediatrician and the Medical Director Clinical Informatics of Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) He was worked with the PA ehealth Initiative since its inception, and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees and is also the Vice-Chair of the Finance Committee. Dr. Levick has served on the Board of Delaware Valley HIMSS since 2005 and is currently the Chair of the Membership Committee. At LVHN, he is involved in the planning and implementation of CPOE, ambulatory EMR, Enterprise Data Strategy/Governance and Clinical Data Support. He is Chairman of the Network's Clinical Decision Support Committee and serves on the LVHN Information Services Advisory and EMR Oversight Committees. He completed a two-year term on the HIMSS

7 National Nominating Committee in Dr. Levick is currently the Chairman of the GE Healthcare Professional Advisory Group Steering Council. He is the Past-President of the Medical Staff of Lehigh Valley Health Network and currently serves as Treasurer for the LVHN Medical Staff. Dr. Levick served in the past as the chairman of the Board of Governors and Associate Medical Director of the Lehigh Valley Physician Group (the employed physician group of LVHN). Dr. Levick has experience in strategic planning and leading change at multiple organizational levels. He has been published in both journals and books, and has spoken nationally on CPOE and change management. Page 7 Edward "Ed" McCallister Chief information officer for UPMC Insurance Services Division Mr. McCallister has more than 20 years of experience in the technology and information services industry. For 12 years he worked for Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield in Pittsburgh where he held a variety of management positions in business and in information technology. He has also worked for Electronic Data Systems (EDS) of Plano, Texas. As CIO, McCallister helped develop and implement the core technological solutions that saw the Health Plan become one of the nation's fastest-growing HMOs. He led the transition from outsourced solutions to in-house development, allowing for multiple integration opportunities. He implemented new solutions by utilizing emerging technologies and leveraging the Health Plan's relationship with providers to help it become one of the nation's leading integrated delivery systems. He has presented at many national conferences and has been both published and featured in a number of national insurance and technical journals. Ed holds a BS degree in Business Administration from St. Francis University in Loretto, Pa. Jeff Reel Executive Director, KINBER Jeff serves as the Executive Director of the Keystone Initiative for Network Based Education and Research (KINBER). Formerly he was the director within ITS Telecommunications and Networking Services. Reel leads the KINBER coalition in the implementation of the Pennsylvania Research and Education Network (PennREN), a statewide broadband network designed to support educational, research, health, and economic development partners across the commonwealth. KINBER, a non-profit corporation, was recently awarded $99 Million in federal stimulus funding to build the network over the next three years. PennREN is expected to encompass every region of the commonwealth, extending through 39 Pennsylvania counties, 22 of which currently are un-served or underserved based on access to affordable broadband services. The network has the potential to provide services to more than 5 million individuals across 2 million households and 200,000 businesses. Learn more about KINBER at

8 Andrew Rose Watson, MD, MLitt, FACS Page 8 Department of Surgery, UPMC Vice President, International and Commercial Services Division Medical Director, Center for Connected Medicine Dr. Andrew Rose Watson is a native of Pittsburgh. He is a fourth generation surgeon and the seventh in his family. He attended Trinity College and subsequently received his Masters degree at the University of Oxford. His thesis studied 17th Century English baroque architecture. He attended medical school at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons and was elected class president all four years. He returned to UPMC for his surgical training and completed a minimally invasive surgical fellowship. He is an actively practicing surgeon in the division of colorectal surgery and specializes in minimally invasive colorectal and inflammatory bowel disease surgery. Dr. Watson spent two years working with the American Board of Surgery and the Department of Surgery at UPMC developing a national platform and curriculum for surgical education. He served as an associate-residency program director for three years and has received numerous teaching awards. Dr. Watson focuses the majority time on corporate health care at UPMC, at $9.5B integrated global delivery network in Pittsburgh. He is a Vice President of the International and Commercial Service Division. He helps to lead industrial relations for UPMC and plays a key role integrating health care information technology into clinical practice. He joined IT management of UPMC in He practices 30% of his clinical care using telemedicine and plays a lead role in establishing telemedicine for UPMC at an enterprise level. He led a 14-month program to develop an enterprise business plan and also a oneyear process to submit a $38m broadband technology opportunity grant as part of the 2009 stimulus funding. He is the Executive Director for Business Development and Technology for Telemedicine. He is the Medical Director of the Center for Connected Medicine, a thought leadership center showcasing the future of health care and health care information technology strategies. This is an executive briefing center located in UPMC's executive headquarters in Pittsburgh that is a joint venture between founding partners UPMC, IBM, ALU and Verizon. There are eight strategic partners as well including Turner, dbmotion, RIM, and Polycom. Dr. Watson has hosted over 600 tours for 4000 people from around the world discussing the transformation of health care and the creation of a connected medicine strategy. Dr. Watson continues to speak at a global level about telemedicine, mobility, and the impact of connected medicine in transforming health care.
