1 Bursa, 12 January 2015 Dear Friends, This year, 16 th International Bursa Karagöz, Puppet and Shadow Theater Festival will be held for five days in November 2015 by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, Bursa Culture Art and Tourism Foundation and UNIMA Turkey National Center. Turkish Shadow Theater Karagöz was accepted as Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2009 by UNESCO and was added to the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage. This makes our festival more significant. Our aim is to introduce Shadow and Puppet Arts from different cultures, especially Traditional Turkish Shadow Art Karagöz and to encourage people from different countries and cultures to come together and share their values with each other. This year, it is expected that 18 Turkish and foreign theater companies to participate to the Festival. Beside performance of theatres, the festival program also includes workshops, lectures, seminars, exhibitions and other events. We will be very happy to host you at our festival. Note: We will be pleased if you could donate us a Puppet or any Shadow Art Figure to be exhibited under your name or your Ensemble s name in Bursa Karagöz Museum that is in our organization. 2 FESTIVAL PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS 1- All the international transportation fee (including cargo) will be covered by the participating groups. Travel and transportation expenses in Turkey will be covered by festival commitee. 2- During the whole Festival, the local and Bursa intercity transportation fee, accommodation and board (breakfast, lunch and dinner) of the participating national and international groups will be covered by the commitee. The hotel extras will be covered by the participants. 3- The performing companies will be paid 500 Euro in total for their participation. 4- Applicant must send materials (cd/dvd/video link/photo) to the committee with filled application form. The decision will be made after watching the performance video by the Festival Commitee. 5- The Application Deadline is 15 June 2015.
