2 Target Tracker Target Tracker is the market-leading pupil progress tracking and assessment tool, now used in 25% of English primary schools, where the software has become an integral part of day-today teaching and learning. Target Tracker plays a key role in improving school effectiveness by integrating software, expert consultancy, training, resources and support to enable schools to develop an on-going strategy for formative assessment and self-improvement. Formative Assessment Using the programmes of study for EYFS and the new primary curriculum, Target Tracker enables teachers to assess individuals or groups against skills and knowledge to show if they are beginning to grasp a concept, can independently and consistently apply it, or if they have mastered the learning and are able to apply it independently across different contexts and subjects. This is then displayed in gap analysis reports allowing teachers to adapt planning and pupils next steps to ensure they make good progress. Observations Throughout the school, teachers are able to attach photographs, notes and scans of work to pupils and statements, building up evidence of achievement for sharing with pupils and parents as well as for moderation purposes. This will soon be possible using an app for phones and tablet devices which is at the final stage of development. Statutory Data The software has been updated to reflect the new end of Key Stage Teacher Assessment Frameworks. Teachers are able to quickly and easily use their ongoing formative assessment to make their end of key stage decision. The statutory data return may then be created directly from the Target Tracker software. Summative Assessment Using formative assessments as a guide to inform your summative assessment gives a good indication of whether a pupil is on track to be secure by the end of their Key Stage. Steps data is then used to report on Age Related Expectation, Attainment and Progress. I just wanted to thank all of the support desk staff who helped us when we went into Ofsted Data meltdown last week. Target Tracker has shifted staff thinking about the use of data in moving children on. It has enabled us to have professional dialogue with each other, develop personalised learning and to see the Big Picture for every child. In my opinion, Target Tracker has found a practical way to plug the potential gap caused by the ending of traditional assessment levels.

Age Expectation Reports: Identify individual or groups of pupils, working at, above or below for single or multiple subjects including combined Reading, Writing and Maths percentage. 6 Case Study - Basildon Excellence Panel The Basildon Excellence Panel (BEP) is a school improvement vehicle which is run, managed, and made up of stakeholders from the schools themselves, Basildon Council, Essex County Council and the Basildon Education Services Trust (BEST).
