Solar II Project soil assessment California The U.S. Department of Energy hired Cardno to determine if operations and maintenance at a large scale solar power plant had impacted surface soils. Cardno s geologists and environmental technicians provided comprehensive subsurface assessment services including strategic advice and cost analysis of alternatives for remediating contaminated soils. Phu My Bridge Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Cardno provided design assistance for the construction of the cable-stayed bridge that spans Saigon River and connects two busy Ho Chi Minh City districts. Cardno also assisted with the design and construction engineering for the bridge s cable-stayed spans. Marine Corps environmental reviews Japan Cardno is providing services to the Marine Corps to prepare first-of-their-kind environmental reviews for basing aircraft across Japan. The reviews will represent the most comprehensive treatment of a Department of Defense plan for this region. Enloe Hydroelectric licensing project Washington For decades, controversy over fish passage stalled efforts to redevelop the Enloe Hydroelectric Facility. Cardno led a recent license application, broadening the approach to include stakeholder consultation prior to the initial consultation meeting, negotiation of technical study plans, updates during studies, and development of protection, mitigation and enhancement measures. Ultimately, we resolved the fish passage issue by aligning U.S. and Canadian tribes and convincing agencies to follow tribal lead. Queensland s first light rail system Gold Coast, Australia Cardno is providing multi-disciplinary services for the Gold Coast s major 13-kilometre light rail corridor. The Gold Coast Rapid Transit project will provide a world-class public transport network that will generate a wide range of social, environmental and economic benefits for the city. Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport Georgia The world s busiest airport is completing a capital improvement program to efficiently and affordably meet projected increases in passengers. Cardno provided a range of services for a new 1.2 million square foot terminal and concourse building on the east side of the existing airport, including geotechnical engineering and specialized construction materials testing. Heavy crude oil pipeline Ecuador Cardno provided an Environmental Impact Assessment for a 500-kilometer heavy crude oil pipeline in Ecuador, including due diligence and environmental monitoring, the implementation of an environmental management system and the protection of archaeological pieces and plant and animal species.
