1 Evaluation Research Consulting Education
2 CEval The Center for Evaluation (CEval) is a research, service and educational institute that is unique in Germany. Since 2002, it has conducted evaluations of projects and programs by government agencies or civil society, and it advises public and private organizations regarding the development of monitoring systems and evaluation concepts. CEval also offers academic training and education programs focusing on Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E). Findings generated in evaluation projects regularly form the basis of fundamental research and are incorporated into the professional and scientific discourse, e.g. by means of publications, text books or international conferences. Thus, CEval contributes to the further conceptual and methodological development of evaluation research, as well as to the dissemination of information to a broad public audience. CEval mainly offers its services to clients working in the following fields: Development cooperation: e.g. governmental and non-governmental cooperation, capacity development, development communication and education, humanitarian aid Education: e.g. schooling, vocational and higher education, graduate and research support schemes Culture: e.g. national and international German cultural policy, bi- and multilateral cooperation, promotion of culture and the arts, international media cooperation, information and communication tools Labor market: e.g. regional research, cross-border labor market, active labor market policies, corporate development tools, trade union research Environment: e.g. environment and sustainability communication, sustainable economic management and production chains, environmental education and information, ecological sensibility, environmentally friendly consumer behavior Health and social care: e.g. health education, vocational and further training in health and social care, social counselling institutions Our interdisciplinary CEval team includes experts from a variety of academic backgrounds, such as sociology, business studies, economics, as well as political and educational sciences. He also holds the Chair for Sociology at Saarland University and is Head of its Master s Degree in Evaluation. Organisation Chart

5 What Evaluation Means to Us CEval uses a demand-oriented approach: Based on your questions, we develop an individual evaluation design and choose the most suitable data collection methods for each evaluation purpose. CEval uses a participatory approach: Clients as well as other relevant parties (e.g. implementing partners or target groups) are involved in the different phases of the evaluation process. Thus, we ensure that both the evaluation itself and its results are transparent and comprehensible in order to allow intense Learning through Evaluation. CEval represents methodological competence: With the aim of assuring the quality of our research, we combine qualitative and quantitative methods for the collection and analysis of data. We have a great deal of experience, e.g. in developing and applying experimental and quasi-experimental evaluation designs, particularly in impact analysis. CEval uses state-of-the-art-research: Our research contributes to the development of evaluation and fundamental research, while simultaneously enabling us to be informed about current debates and research trends. This knowledge is incorporated into our projects, allowing you to benefit from our active involvement in research activities.
