3 ABOUT US The Hanen Centre s approach to early childhood language intervention is based on the following key principles: 1. The central role of parents and educators We recognize parents and educators as the most important language facilitators for all young children, whether they are typically developing, at risk for language delays or identified as language delayed. 2. The importance of starting early Children who receive language support and intervention early in their lives have the best outcomes. 3. The power of the everyday Children learn to communicate not by being taught, but by participating in everyday conversations and activities with parents and educators, who know how to foster the child s language learning. Founded nearly 40 years ago, The Hanen Centre has become a world-renowned authority on how best to involve parents and educators in facilitating children s early language development. As research continues to mount in support of parent/caregiverimplemented early language intervention, parents and professionals rely on Hanen to break down the research into usable strategies that truly make a difference for young children including those with or at risk of language delays and those with developmental challenges such as autism. As a not-for-profit charitable organization, we direct all the funds from our resource and training sales to supporting the ongoing development of our programs and the furthering of our mission: Helping you help children communicate.

4 WHAT S NEW IN 2015 It s an exciting year at The Hanen Centre as we focus on expanding and innovating our products and services.
