38 Combinations of the burglar-alarm system The burglar-alarm system represents the basic infrastructure for alarm management, but the set of applications which can be implemented can easily be enlarged. in fact the burglar-alarm system can be used to check, through special analogue/digital intefaces, the technical alarms as well, such as the presence of gas, flooding or remote assistance, receiving suitable alarm signals (sound, voice, telephone). Moreover the system can always be expanded using the radio wave technology by which sensors can be installed even when the room is not set up for them. COMBiNATiON BY MEANS OF ANALOGUE/ digital interface As said above, the bticino wire burglar-alarm can combine sensors to detect technical alarms with sensors to detect intrusions, thus extending the concept of safety. This application is made available using the auxiliary channel interface (item L/N/NT465) which converts an analogue signal like that given by the closing of a relay contact into a digital signal to be sent to the burglar-alarm bus. The advantage of this is that just one system can manage what would normally be managed with several dedicated systems, one for each type of technical alarm. The most common applications are those which manage the gas detection sensors or inform the user that there is a power cut following operation of the main switch, so that he can then reset it even remotely. interface Analogue/digital devices For technical alarms Methane gas or lpg detector BURGLAR-ALARM SYSTEM Auxiliary channel interface General switch with SALVAVITA STOP&GO device 36 MY HOME - BURGLAR-ALARM

39 ExAMpLE: TELEpHONE SiGNALLiNG OF TRippiNG OF THE GENERAL CiRCUiT BREAKER With home switchboards fitted with a SALVAViTA SToP&go circuit breaker, it is possible be notified when the main circuit breaker trips, due to lightning, electric disturbance or system fault. The main condition for this useful function, is that the SALVAViTA SToP&go device is connected to the burglar-alarm SySTEM through an interface, for the detection of the status of the earth leakage circuit breaker. As soon as one of the above problems occur, the SALAVAViTA SToP&go device automatically closes the tripped circuit breaker and reinstates power supply in full safety. if however the fault is due to an insulation defect, or line overload, the burglar-alarm SySTEM will send a telephone message, to notify the user of the problem. The telephone message can also be forwarded to the My HoME WEb portal, which will then send an alarm message by SMS and/or . When the detector detects gas, by means of the interface it generates a technical alarm signal managed by the burglar-alarm system to close the solenoid valve and at the same time, makes a telephone call via the control unit/dialling device to the My Home Portal which warns the owner or people indicated by him by means of: one or more telephone calls; one or more sms; one or more . channel interface Burglar-alarm system Actuator Gas detector Burglar-alarm control unit Valve MY HOME WEB PORTAL SMS Computer > Mobile phone voice Mobile phone SMS Fixed telephone For more information visit our site 38 MY HOME - BURGLAR-ALARM

41 COMBiNEd WiRE-RAdiO BURGLAR-ALARM This application is made available using a special interface: the radio receiver (item HC/HS/L/N/NT468). This has many installation advantages: installation even when not set up - when a set up for a complete wire system is not available, much of the work on the walls can be avoided by installing just radio sensors. Expand already existing wire systems - the existing wire system can simply be expanded, perhaps installing magnetic sensors on doors, windows or garage swing doors which previously were not checked. Avoid the wiring of sensors in inconvenient places - rooms can be made safe where the bus wires can only reach with expensive wiring operations. A series of optional functions is also made available: Technical alarms - by means of a specific sensors the system can check for flooding of the rooms. Remote assistance - to guarantee tranquillity and a quick response, to help people in difficulty. Radio control - a radio remote control can also be combined with the system, enabling remote arming and disarming. interface wire/radio devices radio Radio volumetric detector WiRE BURGLAR-ALARM SYSTEM Radio receiver Radio perimetrical detector Remote control GENERAL FEATURES my home guide burglar-alarm 39

42 Combinations of the burglar-alarm system ExAMpLE: SENdiNG A CALL FOR HELp BY TELEpHONE CALL TO personal NUMBERS old or disabled people or long-stay patients can send a request for assistance using a portable remote control. The signal transmitted is captured by a radio receiver connected to the burglar-alarm system which activates an internal siren and the burglaralarm control unit telephone dialling device, which sends a request for assistance to the My Home Portal, which warns the owner or people indicated by him by means of: one or more telephone calls; one or more sms; one or more . 44 Combinations of the burglar-alarm system integration WiTH THE AUTOMATiON ANd video door ENTRY SYSTEM by sharing the same information means of transmission (bus pair), the My HoME applications can be easily integrated with each other to optimise functions and to generate others, thus meeting new requirements. in this respect, the burglar-alarm system can be easily integrated with the Automation or video door entry system using a special interface item F422. in the first case, following an intrusion event, the burglar-alarm system sends a command to the Automation system to turn on all the house lights so as to disorient burglars, hence making them run off. in the second case, when an intrusion is detected, the burglar-alarm system automatically activates the cameras, through the video door entry unit, to monitor the trespassed part of the house. obviously, with several interfaces, item F422, it is possible to set up complex systems which consist of the integration of the burglar-alarm system with other different functions (Sound system, Temperature control system, etc.) which can also be managed from a remote PC through the internet. This function is performed by the burglar-alarm control unit, which is programmed to send a timed switching-on command to the actuator of the automation system which manages the entrance lights. The Automation device and burglar-alarm systems are connected by means of an interface which allows the dialogue between the burglar-alarm control unit and the automation device devices. obviously the entrance lights can also be switched on and off by means of the local control device in the automation system. 47 ExAMpLE: AUTOMATiC disabling OF THE HEATiNG SYSTEM in AN AREA OF THE HOUSE by integrating the burglar-alarm SySTEM with the heating system, it is possible to set a particularly useful function, which can bring in important energy savings, avoiding unwanted dispersion of heat to the outside, for example when changing the air inside the house. in practice, when doors or windows are opened, the heating system of that area is automatically turned off. The opening and closing of doors and windows is detected by the burglar-alarm SySTEM contact interface, which reads the status of the NC contact installed on the door or window, and sends the information to the heating system for the appropriate action. This function is only possible when the burglar-alarm system disarmed. one electrovalve Magnetic contact Contact module Radiators off Window open OFF GENERAL FEATURES my home guide burglar-alarm 45
