2 U. S. Grant s Adult Education Philosophy U. S. Grant (Grant Career Center) is devoted to meeting the educational interests of the community. A full-time program, Computerized Business and Medical Applications class is offered to train individuals to work in medical or other offices. Many short-term online courses and part-time general interest and practical skill training courses are offered to change career pathways, enhance current skill potential, and general-interest subject matter. Grant Career Center is committed to providing quality education to meet the jobtraining needs of local business and industry and the interests of the community. It is believed that all adults who enter programs are seeking to acquire new skills and competencies; and Grant provides those skills. General information: Financial Aid and other benefits: Federal PELL Grants are available through the U. S. Department of Education. This grant, if awarded to those who qualify, is based on income and is available for those enrolled in our 900-hour program, Computerized Business and Medical Applications (CBMA). Our Financial Aid Advisor can guide applicants through the application for a PELL grant. Some county agencies may have funds available for job-training courses as well. Accreditation: Both the secondary- and post-secondary programs are accredited through the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The CBMA course is governed by the Ohio Board of Regents. Tuition: Course fees are established to cover the operating expenses of the Adult Education programs which are self-supporting. For most courses, there are no extra fees: textbooks and handouts are included in the course price. In some cases (ex. Horticulture), the cost includes the costs of supplies. Call for information about classes in which you are interested. Senior citizen discounts (62 years or older): Tuition rates are $10 for evening classes excluding one-night classes for those classes, textbooks and supplies are an additional expense. Grant graduates: Grant Career Center secondary and adult education graduates will be granted a 10 percent discount on part-time classes pertaining to the program in which they were enrolled while students at Grant Career Center. Refunds & Cancellations: The AE Dept. reserves the right to cancel any class. In the event a class is cancelled, a refund of the tuition fee will be made. No refund will be made after the first class unless the class is discontinued. A $5 service fee is charged on all withdrawals. Allow at least six weeks for any refund. Online Registration We provide an online system to pay tuition. You may use your credit and/or debit card for the transaction. Credit card payments can only be made via the internet.
