3 Community Outreach Coordinator Rowan County (Head Start / Early Head Start) Requisition # 1088 Post Date: June 5, 2015 The Community Outreach Coordinator is an experienced professional responsible for cultivating strategic partnerships through community outreach activities. The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating and executing a comprehensive outreach plan to build awareness of and maximize access to SRCAA programs (primarily Head Start) and develop community partners and volunteers. This position is responsible for: Developing key community relationships throughout the six-county area SRCAA serves in an effort to enhance outreach, increase the number of client referrals and community partners. Making presentations at events and activities to disseminate information about the programs/services available. Developing and implementing an annual outreach plan that will effectively engage families to participate in activities and services offered by SRCAA. This position will: Collaborate with Parent, Family and Community Engagement Coordinator and other members of the Head Start Leadership team to promote family and community involvement in all aspects of the program. Assist with the recruitment and recommendation of community volunteers Provide outreach to low income communities, community leaders and organizations for the purpose of recruiting families to Head Start and other SRCAA programs, developing resources and building partnerships with community members. Preferred qualifications: Master s Degree and below minimum requirements Minimum qualifications: Bachelor s Degree; two years experience in successful community outreach/recruitment; ability to connect with others and forge strong relationships; bi-lingual (oral and written); computer skills including Microsoft Office, ability to create forms/documents, spreadsheets, database experience, and ability to use internet and ; valid NC driver s license and reliable transportation. well as medical, vision and 401K programs. This position works 12 months per year.

Teachers working toward the required education and licensure shall hold a minimum of a BA/BS degree and the following requirements: (1) NC Initial Provisional Lateral Entry BK License, or (2) A North Carolina K-6 license and a provisional Preschool Add-on license, or (3) Another North Carolina or other state's license and an NC Provisional B-K Add-on license, or (4) A BA/BS degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field, and be eligible for a NC Initial Provisional Lateral Entry B-K License. (NOTE: related fields are Human Development and Family Studies, Psychology, Special Education, Human Growth and Development). well as medical, vision and 401K programs. The Head Start position works 10 months per year. The Early Head Start position works 12 months per year.

Directs classroom activities and maintaining discipline in an appropriate manner Preferred qualifications: Bachelor s degree in Early Childhood Education, birth to 5 years or related field; two years experience teaching preschool; bi-lingual (English and Spanish) and below minimum qualifications. Minimum qualifications: Child Development Associate credential or an associate's degree in psychology, special education, social services, early childhood education, or a related field. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted. Candidate must be able to periodically attend out of town conferences and training sessions; and possess good oral, written and organization skills. well as medical, vision and 401K programs. This position works 10 months per year.

Assist daily within Head Start/Early Head Start center as directed by the Center Director. Responsible for supervising children by providing and maintaining a safe, healthy learning environment. Responsible for maintaining staff/child ratio at all times. Responsible for serving as an advocate for children, families, and communities. Responsible for attending parent functions within the center. Responsible for participating in keeping the center in compliance in the absence of bus monitor, nutrition aid, or custodian. Responsible for assisting in rotation of Extended Day services as assigned by Center Director. Responsible for encouraging children to participate fully in all activities at all levels of interest and ability. Responsible for assisting with preparing materials and activities for individual, small groups or large groups in a classroom setting as part of the curriculum. Responsible for maintaining training hours as directed by the Division of Child Development and Day Care Licensing requirements through Agency pre-service and in-service, and workshops, conferences, etc. Preferred: High School diploma (or equivalent), Early Childhood diploma, 1 year experience working with preschool children, computer literate, good oral, written, and organization skills, valid license and reliable transportation, able to periodically attend out of town conferences and training sessions. Minimum: High School diploma (or equivalent), Credentials I & II, some experience working with preschool children, computer literate, good oral, written, and organization skills, valid license and reliable transportation, able to periodically attend out of town conferences and training sessions. well as medical, vision and 401K programs. This position in Head Start works 10 months per year. This position in Early Head Start works 12 months per year. The position that is split with Bus Driver is full-time for 10 months per year.
7 Bus Drivers Requisition #1018 Post Date: July 15, 2014 Requisition # 1080 Post Date: May 27, 2015 Stanly County (Head Start) Requisition #1083 (split position with Floater) This position is responsible for: Ensure that parents, family members and children follow Head Start / Early Head Start policies and procedures with respect to the safe transportation, pickup and drop off of passengers. Transport children and, on an occasional basis family members, for regular class days, organized field trips and occasional evening meetings (special transportation). Maintaining required paperwork for bus maintenance and Head Start program requirements. Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent (including GED); hold and maintain a valid NC Commercial Driver s License with P and S endorsements; NC School Bus Driver Pocket Card with endorsements for passenger, school bus and air brakes; possess a driving record that is sufficient to pass a check of driving and criminal records by the NC DMV; no violations on record for a period of 3 years prior to date of hire; ability to work and communicate effectively with children, teachers and coordinators. This is a part time position for 10 months per year. The position that is split with Floater is full-time for 10 months per year.
8 Custodian Requisition #1079 Post Date: May 27, 2015 This position provides custodial and minor maintenance for agency, classrooms, offices, common areas, utilities, equipment, fixtures, and materials for the facility and grounds. Position must follow health and safety procedures and perform safety inspections and checklists to ensure facility and grounds are hazard free. Duties include: Performing routine inspections and regular up keep of interior and exterior areas to ensure areas are free of safety hazards, trash, weeds and other foreign materials. Performing regular upkeep of outside areas, including play grounds and parking lots, to include trash and litter removal required to keep areas clean, neat and safe. Rake playground fall zones daily. Till entire playground monthly. Assisting with moving office and classroom furniture, fixtures and equipment to support increasing staffing changes, relocations, remodels, program expansion and custodial requirements. Performing miscellaneous minor maintenance; (i.e. change filters, paint, unclog toilets, replace light bulbs, etc.) as needed. Preferred qualifications: Two years custodial experience and below minimum qualifications. Minimum qualifications: High School diploma (or equivalent, including GED); one year custodial experience; valid NC driver s license; minor repair experience; possess good oral and written communication skills. This is a part time position for 10 months per year.
