4 ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC STUDENT PARISH KALAMAZOO, MICHIGAN TOILET PAPER MINISTRY WE SET ANOTHER RECORD! St. Tom s contributed 2181 rolls of toilet paper for the poor to the Mobile Food Initiative for the September distribution at St. Andrews. This is 722 more rolls than we contributed in August. I wish we could report that this wiped out the problem, but that s not the case. Keep those donations coming. Please place your paper donations in the box in the narthex. Or you can place a check in the collection basket made out to St. Thomas More with a note on the memo line that it is for Toilet Paper Ministry. We ll be sure to get the most product for your money. ARE YOU SPONSORING A STUDENT IN OUR SALVADORAN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM? THERE S STILL TIME TO WRITE A LETTER. The students really look forward to getting a letter. They like to hear about our families and what we are doing but when writing keep in mind they live in extremely poor conditions. A short note or card is good. If it needs translating we will need them soon. Questions call Michele at the parish office, or [email protected]. FAMILY PERSPECTIVE Having possessions is an illusion. In today s gospel Jesus told the young man to give up his need to control and put his trust in God. He couldn t let go! In families our need to control destroys relationships. We can lead, teach and encourage, but we can t control anyone but ourselves Thank you for your continued support of this important ministry.
