This has been a motivational quote for me this year not only in pursuing doctoral program, but also in continuing to pursue international advocacy through my foundation called Inspirational Alignment Advocacy Foundation, Incorporated. I would like to express how grateful I am to be a member of STTI and to receive assistance from this prestigious organization both in my journey to doctoral program and international advocacy. STTI s support has inspired me to keep my enthusiasm burning and keep moving forward in order to reach my goals. To update, my foundation is officially incorporated with Arizona Corporation Commission as of September 15, The application fee and professional fee is about $1,700 and I am personally covering the expenses through increment payments. Making the foundation officially recognized was of utmost importance. Regardless of financial limitations, it was a sacrifice needed to show legal and sincere commitment to advocacy.

2 On the doctoral program, I am scheduled to take the doctoral residency class on November 20-24, I am grateful to be in the program, and my experiences are molding me in becoming the leader I am meant to be. I am consciously focused in growing personally and professionally and I have learned to develop a well-balanced awareness of my abilities and weaknesses. The doctoral program provides opportunities to create room for improvement, and assists to make me truly capable of reaching my full potential. For this month of October, I will be traveling to Hollywood California to receive recognition as one of the 50 successful Filipinas in the United States selected by Maxi Tone Hollywood Cosmetics on October 26. This will be the presentation night from the photo shoot done in March, and the release of Maxi Tone Hollywood book in which I will also be featured. A red carpet event, I am excited to be a part of this event to expand meaningful experiences, and share my passion to others. I hope that I can inspire and ignite desire in others to lead by example and empower others to become more capable individuals developing full potential. In my brief description, I have included active membership and scholarship with STTI, a prestigious international nursing organization and my foundation with focus on advocating underserved students, medical missions, and health promotion. Travel expenses will be personally covered. For this month, I have also shipped 5 cargo boxes of books with estimated arrival date in the Philippines by first week of December. Estimated value of these books - $6,200, a variety of medical/nursing books to be donated to a nursing school, good reads for high school, and children s books for an elementary school. Needs assessment was done by a connection with Department of Education Central Office, Philippines to provide

3 assistance to victims of Typhoon Haiyan that devastated the city of Tacloban in November The theme if this project is Help Rebuild Schools Haiyan. I was able to recruit sponsors to help finance the shipping costs, and added money raised in bracelet fundraising, with an engraved printing of Inspirational Alignment. My goal is to travel to the Philippines to personally deliver the books, and also engage in public speaking events. Mayo Clinic Hospital has been gracious to give me 12 days off of work to deliver my project. Travel dates are scheduled from December 10-22, My challenge is to fund my ticket and expenses to the Philippines, which will cost me about a minimum of $2,500. With this challenge, I am seeking kind support from STTI to make this mission possible. I will be engaging in public speaking to inspire students about the value of education, use adversities and changes in life to grow, and find ways to improve lives through resiliency, flexibility, and maximum use of available resources. I want to be a role model to these variety of students, and impact their lives by sharing my experiences and gifts through collaboration with others. I also plan to have a health and nutrition day in the designated elementary school in collaboration with Department of Education faculty and staff to talk about food choices, behavior, and habits. In addition, the school principal of Binaratan Elementary School where I had my library project has invited me to be the guest speaker on December 18 Christmas Program. I will be speaking to 221 students about the importance of education and values with emphasis on caring, sharing, respect, and courage. On the same day, I plan to create a fundraising event to celebrate my birthday on that day. The money that will be raised, I plan to give as a scholarship to a deserving senior high school student.

4 I believe everything is possible when passion comes from a deeper place. Our challenges give us a reason to stand with core motivation and courage. These are my humble beginnings, and will continue to find resources to help me reach my goals through collaboration with others. Mapping my vision, I hope that STTI can assist to achieve these meaningful goals. In closing, Dr. Martin Luther King said so eloquently, the ultimate measure of man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge. (Hardy, 2010). Despite difficulty, I will continue to press on, uphold high professional standards in alignment with ideals and purposes of nursing, and continue international advocacy to create a compound effect in the lives of others.
