2 ASSESSING DESIGNING & IMPLEMENTING PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM 1 Course Outline Overview Learning how to drive productivity and growth in your organization through effective performance management and appraisals is one of the most challenging responsibilities for HR professionals. This course explores the elements, purposes, and types of performance appraisal systems. Through an interactive case study, the course covers the assessment and implementation of a performance appraisal system. Who Should Attend HR managers responsible for implementing or maintaining performance management and/or appraisal systems within their organizations. Non-HR business professionals desiring a fast-track introduction to the business human resources function. Line managers wishing to improve their knowledge and skills in managing subordinates. What are the objectives of appraisals? Who should be appraised? Who should carry out the appraisal? How often should appraisals take place? Should employees see their appraisal reports? Making a success of appraisals Performance, potential, and readiness Performance-potential grid Practices used for identifying successors Types of assessments and assessment matrix Dealing with competing demands
