Research During the last 6 7 years my research profile has gradually changed, and a major part of the activities ar e now focused on experimental studies of nm sized clusters embedded in various matrices. The objective is to understand the optical and electrical properties of these systems and thereby establish a basis for development of efficient light emitting or photovoltaic devices, which are fully compatible with silicon microelectronics. Previously, my main focus was on experimental investigations of point defects in semiconducto r materials, in particular, with emphasis on the structure of point defects and on their electronic and vibrational properties. Experimental qualifications I ha ve achieved hands on experience with a large number of different experimental techniques during my career, amo ng which the most important are: Ion implantation, Electron irradiation, Magnetron sputtering, Fourier Transform InfraRed absorption spectroscopy (FTIR), Uniaxial stress measurements, Attenuated Total Reflection spectroscopy (ATR), Photo Thermal Ionization Spectroscopy (PTIS), Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR), Photo Luminescence (PL), Rutherford Backscattering Spectroscopy (RBS), Nuclear Reaction Analysis (NRA), Ion channeling, Deep Level Transient Spectroscopy (DLTS) including Laplace DLTS, Capacitance Voltage profiling (CV), Current Voltage characterization (IV)

5 5 Curriculum Vitae International collaborations I have had a very close collaboration with Professor R. Jones and his theory group at Exeter University, United Kingdom. This collaboration was very productive, and a substantial number of papers have resulted from this collaboration as may be seen from enclosed publication list. Furthermore, I have collaborated with several groups from USA; a theory group at Texas Tech, headed by Professor Stefan Estreicher, and experimental groups at Lehigh University and Vanderbilt University. I have also collaborated with groups at Keio University in Japan and at Aveiro University in Portugal. Publicatio ns I am the author or co author of 98 peer reviewed publications of which 9 have been published in Physical R eview Letters, 29 in Physical Review B, and 2 in Applied Physics Letters. Accordi ng to the database ISI WEB of Knowledge, the total number of citations was 1,561 on the 15 th of August, 2010 for the 93 papers in the publication list for which information could be retrieved. This gives an average of 16.8 citations per paper. The Hirsh index is 22. Invited talks at international conferences I have present ed 16 keynote talks (invited) together with a large number of ordinary talks at international conferences and workshops. DKK from the Danish Research Council for Technical Science (STVF) with Arne Nylandsted Larsen as PI I led a semiconductor group, which was funded by the Danish National Research Foundation through the Aarhus Center for Atomic Physics (ACAP). The center was led by Professor Jens Ulrik Andersen. My groups share of the total funding was about 8 mio DKK. 6 Teaching Experience Courses Since my employment as Associate Professor in 1988, I have been responsible for 10 different major courses for graduate and undergraduate students on different subjects ranging from Solid State Physic and Semiconductor Physics to Statistical Physic, Classical Mechanics, and Quantum Mechanics. In addition, I have supervised students in experimental courses and in solving theoretical problems in connection with a number of courses. Ph.D, Master, and Bachelor production I have supervised 8 Ph.D, 16 Master, and 10 Bachelor students, who all have finished their projects success fully. Furthermore, I have trained 5 post docs. At present, I supervise one Ph.D student, and one post docs.
