1 AIMING FOR GLOBAL EXCELLENCE UEPP 1-4 University English Preparatory Programme ENTRY DATES January, March, July and October
2 HOW DO I KNOW WHAT MY LEVEL IS? At the first point of entry onto a programme of study at IMI, all students will be tested on their level of English competence. Those failing to meet the required programme entry standard will be required to improve their level to the entry standard before commencing their IMI programme. In the case of UEPP 2, UEPP 3 and UEPP 4, this may mean starting on a lower level UEPP. To be accepted onto the course we will need proof in the form of a certificate from a recognised body for example: IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC or Cambridge Certificate, other bodies may also be considered. If you do not currently have proof of your level of English, please see the next section Oxford Online Test. OXFORD ONLINE TEST In the absence of an IELTS or TOEFL score, you will be asked to complete an online placement test allowing us to assess your English level and place you in the correct English class. The Oxford Online Placement Test is free of charge for all prospective students and once the test is completed and submitted, the IMI admissions team are immediately informed of your test result. The Oxford Online Placement Test is used by an increasing number of universities and language schools as a quick and reliable measure of a student s English language ability. Once you have indicated to the admissions department that you would need to take this test, full details and instructions will be sent to you. I TOOK MY TOEFL YEARS AGO AND WANT A REFRESHER COURSE If you already have the correct TOEFL or IELTS score for your chosen course but would like to refresh your language skills there is a possibility for you to take one of our Pre-Sessional English courses which allows you to join the last four weeks of an equivalent UEPP course. PSEC 1 If you already have an IELTS of 5.0 but require a refresher course you could join the PSEC 1 PSEC 2 If you already have an IELTS of 5.5 but require a refresher course you could join the PSEC 2 PSEC 3 If you already have an IELTS of 6.0 but require a refresher course you could join the PSEC 3
