4 The Centre of Practical Education and Lifelong Learning in Zabrze is a group of public education establishments run by the District of Zabrze in Silesia voivodship. 7 We possess modern teaching facilities....today WE NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO DISCOVER TOMOROW TO MANAGE TO LIVE THE DAY AFTER (CODN, 1988) We collaborate with numerous education establishments, practical workshops and associations of employers. Our activities and professional interests: Educating, upbringing and care over pupils attending vocational secondary schools in Zabrze by organizing practical learning of profession in Centre of Practical Education and theoretical courses of vocational subjects for pupils attending multi-profession groups in Centre of Educational and Professional Improvement, Teaching adults in traditional school and out-of-school forms, especially by organizing training and professional improvement courses in Centre of Lifelong Learning No 1 and in our training institution, Guidance for youth attending school and jobseekers performed in the Centre of Vocational Guidance and Labor Market, in order to increase awareness in choices of future education or vocational paths and prepare them for entering labor market successfully. 21 March 2011 we were granted a Certificate of Compliance with ISO 9001:2008 standard

12 THE DESCRIPTION OF VOCATIONAL EXAMINATION Every successful graduate is granted with a Diploma confirming his/her vocational qualifications. If requested by the graduate, we enclose an Europass Certificate Supplement to a Diploma Confirming Vocational Qualifications, which is created according to description of particular profession included in educational programme basis of this profession. The supplement can be prepared in two language versions : Polish and English.
13 VOCATIONAL EXAM IN CKPiU The Centre of Practical Education and Lifelong Learning runs an Examination Centre of The District Examination Committie. We conduct the practical part of the vocational examination for graduates of basic vocational schools in following professions: locksmith, roofer, bricklayer, tinsmith, floor layer, painter-wallpaper layer, electromechanician, electrician, plumber. o What s more, we conduct the practical part of vocational examination for graduates of our supplementary technical secondary school.

15 At the moment we conduct following projects within Human Capital Operational Programme funded by European Social Fund: Investment in future = investment in yourself Priority IX. Development of education and competencies in the regions, Activity 9.3. Popularization of formal lifelong learning in school forms. Innovative education. Improvement in teaching methods and management of schools and educational establishments run by the City of Zabrze. Priority IX. Development of education and competencies in the regions, Activity 9.4. Highly qualified personnel of the educational system. The success of school is the success of its graduates Priority IX. Development of education and competencies in the regions, Activity 9.2. Improvement of attractiveness and quality of vocational education.
16 Investment in future = investment in yourself Project realized in partnership with an Employment Agency of the District of Zabrze period of realization: 24 months project duration: project purpose: improvement of professional qualifications (assessed by vocational exam) of adult citizens of Zabrze, thanks to the broadening and adjustment of vocational education offer to the specific needs of local market, especially by development of two new groups: a three-profession group in Basic Vocational School and a two-profession group in Supplementary Technical Secondary School amount of funding: ,00 zł

20 TRAINING COURSES
21 Department of Lifelong Learning in Out-of-school Forms within The Centre of Practical Education and Lifelong Learning in Zabrze Needs and deficiencies in our training and course offer are identified according to Report on monitoring deficient and surplus professions created by Centre of Professional Consulting and Labor Market and assessed by analysis of questionnaires directed to businessmen and employers from Zabrze.
22 Summary of training courses Between September 2010 and March 2011 over 1000 people took part in different forms of professional training carried out in CKPiU. Since September 2010 until now there were 8 courses organized, conducted exclusively by CKPiU personnel. During courses listed above, we have managed to train 52 people including 40 disabled persons and 12 unemployed.
23 Improvement courses Improvement courses last from 30 up to 400 hours, depending on training programme. They involve small groups between 5 and 12 people. We specialize in courses concerning: computer handling and internetworking building and construction sector Participants of the courses are: Disabled persons hired in Vocational Activity Institution Unemployed people People with alcohol addiction problems who are facing the danger of social exclusion
24 Seminary Training Seminary training last from 5 to 30 hours. Meetings are conducted in groups of 10 to 30 people. Usually, the participants are teachers and personnel of educational establishments from Zabrze who take part in training on: Educational law Health and safety at workplace Premedical first aid
25 Evaluation and future perspectives Every successful graduate is given a certificate confirming his/her participation in a particular training programme. At the end of the course, participants are requested to fill an evaluation questionnaire which is the basis of subsequently created evaluation reports. Evaluation reports are helpfull in incorporating innovations and perfecting the education process in lifelong learning.
