1 CITY OF GLENDALE INTERDEPARTMENTAL COMMUNICATION DATE: September 14, 2011 TO: FROM: BY: Members of the Civil Service Commission Matt Doyle, Director of Human Resources Narineh Kasparian, Human Resources Assistant SUBJECT: Class Specifications for Approval - Electrical Series Electrical Engineer Series BACKGROUND Attached for your approval are the revised class specifications for the Electrical Series and the Electrical Engineer Series. Within the Electrical Services and Power Production Sections of Glendale Water & Power, these classifications perform professional engineering work involving engineering designs and plans. These class specifications are being updated as part of Human Resources' efforts to conduct a comprehensive review of all existing class specifications. The proposed revisions seek to bring the specifications up-to-date, as the Electrical Series was last approved in June 1992, and the Electrical Engineer Series was last approved in October The Glendale City Employees Association (GCEA) and the Glendale Management Association (GMA) have been given an opportunity to review the proposed revisions for the respective classification(s) relevant to their Associations and have not expressed any concerns. RECOMMENDATION That the revised class specifications for the Electrical Series and the Electrical Engineer Series be approved as submitted.
