Variables such as weather, fuel costs, pilot physical condition, and pilot supplies may affect costs. This figure could be more more or less depending on a student's progress. Note: FAA Practical Tests (check rides) are required earn certificates and ratings and are paid the designated examiner, not the college. The following additional flight labs are offered as electives, for students wanting earn flight instrucr ratings. The prices listed below are considered our "base" hourly rates and students pay this rate plus fuel. For the purposes of this planning sheet, the above cost estimates were calculated using the January 2012 hourly rates. During the 2011 calendar year, aircraft hourly rates fluctuated a maximum of $4.40/hour for the Archers and Cessnas; $7.10/hour for the Seminole and Micco. Fuel costs are continually monired and adjusted accordingly. *Ground Billing (Part 141 courses): Students making normal progress are not charged for regular pre- and post-flight ground instruction for each flight lesson. Students are billed for ground instruction time if they exceed the tal ground time alloted for the course. (See Aviation Student Handbook for complete details). Minimum Flight Lab Deposits: Students are required desposit the higher of the two amounts listed for each flight certificate or rating prior the beginning of the semester in which they will start that particular certificate or rating. Any remaining money at the completion of each certificate or rating will be "rolled over" and applied the next phase of flight training or refunded the student, at the student's request. Page 2
