Have completed a minimum of 180 credit points under the Bachelor of Aviation (Pilot Stream) offered by Griffith University. 2. Have attended the professional development program referred to as MATES (Mentoring Aviators Through Educational Support) whilst enrolled in the Bachelor of Aviation (Pilot Stream). 3. Have successfully completed specified preparatory training within MATES related to the practical program. This preparatory training includes aeroplane preparatory training, study and assessment of standard operating procedures, aeroplane technical knowledge, pre-flight, in-flight and post-flight procedures. 4. Hold a current Class 1 Medical Certificate for Commercial Pilot Licensing. The medical must be carried out by a Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (DAME). A Pilot Aptitude Assessment is strongly recommended prior to commencement in the Graduate Diploma of Flight Management. 8. FLYING TRAINING CREDIT Students can apply to gain credit of up to 10CP (up to General Flight Progress Test) for prior flight experience by lodging written confirmation from the flight training provider for flight practicum deemed as completed as a result of prior flight experience together with a credit transfer application form. I understand and agree that: (a) (b) (c) (d) If any information given by me in this application is found to be false, or if I am found to have deliberately misrepresented or omitted any relevant information, Griffith University may refuse to consider me further. My selection is the sole responsibility of Griffith University and is subject to holding a current Class 1 Medical Certificate and an ARN. I am required to produce, before commencing training, documentary evidence of my date of birth (i.e. birth certificate or other acceptable documents). An offer of training is not deemed to be valid unless formally made in writing by an authorised University Officer and signed by me as an indication of my acceptance of the offer and conditions set out therein. In addition, included in program cost are other actual additional costs such as the following: (e) (f) (g) All examination fees for CASA specified ground examinations; All test fees for CASA specified performance assessments; All specified reference textbooks related to the CASA specified ground examinations. What is not included in the course cost are: (h) Administrative charges relating to Student Pilot Licence application and issue, aviation security card application and issue, medical renewals and general set up costs; (i) Headset / flight bag / regulatory documentation / maps / charts. Typically these costs are around $2000 and students are required to have this funding available for these items prior to the start of the practical program. (j) (k) (l) I am required to pass GFPT within the Graduate Diploma of Flight Management. GFPT syllabus time may include up to the 10 additional hours allocated for the GFPT phase. I am required to pass PPL within the Graduate Diploma of Flight Management. PPL syllabus time may include up to a total of 25 additional hours (which includes the 10 hours for the GFPT phase). I am required to pass the CPL within the Graduate Diploma of Flight Management. CPL syllabus time may include up to a total of 25 additional hours (additional flying for PPL and GFPT phases) where the value of the additional hours is based on the PPL aircraft rate. (m) I am required to pass the MECIR within the Graduate Diploma of Flight Management. MECIR syllabus time may include up to a total of 30 additional hours (5 hours for CIR phase, 15 hours PPL phase and 10 hours GFPT phase) where the value of the additional hours is based on 25 hours at the PPL aircraft rate and 5 hours at the MECIR aircraft rate. (n) (o) (p) (q) I will be allowed one re-sit of any Griffith University flight training provider or CASA ground examination. Where additional ground instruction time or a re-sit of a ground examination is required, the cost shall be deducted from the value of the additional hours included in the Graduate Diploma of Flight Management program. Where additional simulator training is required, the cost shall be deducted from the value of the additional hours included in the Graduate Diploma of Flight Management program. I agree to commence the flight training as directed by the Program Convenor. 2. Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) and Student Pilot Licence (SPL) Under the Federal Air Navigation Act 1920 (CTH) and Air Navigation Regulations 1947 (CTH), Griffith University will require students to be eligible to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) and Student Pilot Licence (SPL). Under Civil Aviation Regulations, Griffith University will require students to be eligible to hold a SPL. I also acknowledge that, where relevant, my enrolment will be conditional on me being eligible to hold an ASIC. 3. Class 1 Medical Certificate from CASA If I were to become ineligible to hold a Class 1 Medical Certificate from CASA that my continued enrolment in the Graduate Diploma of Flight Management will be subject to review, and could include withdrawal from the program.
