2 Led major gifts initiatives, which in turn, addressed critical technology and physical health needs of children with special needs, by opening the Dorothy Pace Assistive Technology Center, Connelly Field and the Burr Fitness Center. Worked strategically with governmental leaders. Hosted Invite your Legislator to Cotting School Days each attended by more than 40 Massachusetts and New Hampshire Legislators and Aides. Initiated the Cotting Fellowship, an endowed national program to train the next generation of highly skilled special education teachers. Opened Cotting Consulting, which provides technical assistance to teachers and direct care to students in more than 25 school districts. Purchased property to expand the schools size from 14 acres to nearly 18 acres. Let a major Go Green initiative which transformed energy usage on campus, decreasing greenhouse gasses though a solar installation, a conversion to natural gas and single stream recycling. Expanded the school s marketing and advocacy efforts through multiple media sources including local TV and radio, National Public Radio and the publication of Cotting School: A Pictorial History. BOSTON COLLEGE - Chestnut Hill, MA Faculty Present Teach two undergraduate courses titled Values in Social Services and Health Care and Boston: An Urban Analysis. Assisted students in the following groups: Jenks Leadership Group; the Faith, Peace and Justice Program; and the Learning to Serve Programs. COMPASS, INC. - Boston, MA President & Executive Director Founded in 1974, Community Providers of Adolescent Services, Inc. (COMPASS), is a private non- profit educational and social services organization for high- risk, inner- city youth and their families. Expanded agency budget from $250,000 to $4.8M, number of clients from 16 to 275, number of programs from 2 to 16, and staff from 8 to 114 in first 20 years as Executive Director. Secured multiple facilities for organization. Led successful capital campaign. Led COMPASS 25th anniversary events. Was responsible for the financial and administrative outlook of this focused and effective non- profit organization that provides educational and social services to high- risk children. Supervised senior staff to ensure that services are provided to youth referred by the Departments of Youth and Social Services, cities and towns, the local courts and human service organizations. Established national consulting practice. Developed and implemented effective personnel policies and procedures for staff and clients. Wrote proposals, negotiated contracts, conducted management meetings, prepared annual budget, submitted federal and state forms in compliance with applicable regulations, monitor agency expenditures.
