2 Overview AmTrust International is part of the AmTrust Group and comprises two regulated insurance companies, AmTrust Europe Limited (AEL) and AmTrust International Underwriters Limited (AIUL). Both AEL and AIUL are committed to disciplined underwriting, focusing on niche products, low-hazard risks and serving their clients needs. AEL and AIUL are both rated A (Excellent) by A.M. Best and operate out of offices in London, Madrid, Manchester, Milan, Nottingham, Dublin, Stockholm, Frankfurt and Ho Chi Minh City. History and Operations The AmTrust Group is a multinational speciality property and casualty insurance group. Formed in 1998, it has insurance operations in the United States, Bermuda, Europe and Asia providing a balanced portfolio of insurance products. AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. became publicly traded on the NASDAQ Global Market in November AmTrust International commenced its European activities in 2003 with the establishment of AIUL in Dublin. AIUL s core lines include structural defects, casualty and large volume, low value special risk insurance programs, such as extended warranty insurance for brown and white goods, GAP cover and home emergency risks. AmTrust opened its London office originally located in The Lloyd s Building in 2003 and the Stockholm office in In April 2007, AEL was acquired to enhance AmTrust s insurance presence within the UK and European markets. AEL is now a leader in legal expenses insurance, caravan and landlords insurance and has an experienced casualty underwriting team that specialises in employers, public and products liability and professional indemnity saw AmTrust expand its European presence further with the addition of the Milan and Madrid operations. The Milan office is a branch of AEL, which oversees a claims management division that provides strategic importance to the support service throughout Europe. AmTrust Insurance Spain (AIS) specialises in surety, contract and commercial and property bonds for a number of large international commercial organisations. The acquisition of Car Care Plan, a leading motor warranty provider was finalised in 2013; adding to AmTrust s strong warranty background and providing the added value service element to its current proposition.
