3 1.0 The Contractor 1.1 Insta the recessed head channe (code: PSQ1) to the ceiing and wa abutments (as appicabe) ensure the vertica profies are pumb. 1.2 Erect soid eevations which comprise of paster edge channe (code: PSQ2), vertica gazing profies(i.e singe gazed (code: PSQ5) or doube gazed (code: PSQ6) and door frame paster adaptor (code: PSQ11) if required). The system to be boarded, skirting appied, taped and fied or paster skim coated as specified. 1.3 Insta gazed head profies (i.e singe gazed (code: PSQ7) or doube gazed (code: PSQ8) within the recessed head channe as aready fixed. Simiar gazing profies to be appied to recessed channe at vertica abutments aso. Note 1. Note 2. Note 3. It is essentia that the appropriate notchings be carried out to accommodate gazing junctions. For gazing profie notching, see separate detais. Gass door pivots and fixing pates (if appicabe) to be sid into gazing head section prior to fixing these profies. Gazier to adjust and tighten these ater. Gazing gasket channe (code: SJ13) is not to be instaed at this stage (i.e to be stored for insertion by gazier at gazing stage). 1.4 Fit the Poar base gazing profies (as appicabe) minus gazing gasket. Leave door openings between these base channes accuratey positioned NB: effect notchings as necessary to these base channes. 1.5 Fu height, singe action door frames (code: PSQ4). Insta door frame utiising door frame head fier (code: PSQ12) to ink frame head to recess head channe. Door frame to be accuratey pumbed and securey fixed using appropriate foor fix brackets. 1.6 Timber doors (if appicabe) may be fitted at this stage or aternativey during a return visit if more appropriate. 1.7 Doube action door frame (code: PSQ9 - Simframe), if appicabe, to be instaed in tandem with head gazing profies (see fixing instructions). NB: Timber doors within standard height Hao type door frames wi invove a 2nd fix visit by the contractor. page 2 of 12

4 2.0 Komfort 2.1 On competion of the contractor s first fix described in section 1, the Komfort surveyor wi attend site and measure gass sizes for manufacture. 2.2 Once manufactured (7-10 working days ater, or as agreed) the Komfort gass fitters wi attend site and insta the gass panes, ghost posts (i.e for doube gazed) and gass doors incuding ocksets. Standard height (i.e Hao type door frame) to be instaed by Komfort. Note: Timber door to be fitted by the contractor. 2.3 Siicon or dry joints wi be appied as appicabe. Siicon joints to be aowed to cure for 48 hours. 2.4 The Komfort gazier wi return to site and compete the siicon work if togging has been necessary 2.5 Manifestation (if appicabe) wi be appied when the siicon work is competed and cured. 2.6 Gazing dry joint situation: Dry joints to gazing wi precude the necessity to appy siicon and thus avoid curing time. 2.7 Binds (if appicabe) wi be instaed in tandem with the gass instaation to doube gazed situations. 3. The Contractor 3.1 Wi be responsibe for fitting any timber doors and shoud these appy to standard height Hao type door frames, woud require a second visit. 3.2 The contractor wi aso be responsibe for the ceaning away of any surpus materias or debris. Note: Any extras to the order or aterations once the Komfort surveyor has competed his survey wi be subject to separate quotation and order and may effect the program. page 3 of 12

5 4.0 Recessed Head and Wa Channe code: PSQ1 - Recessed Head 3 W AY J U N C T I O N Wa abutment (optiona) Ceat sots These channes are appied at the ceiings and may aso be used at wa abutments if specified. They provide a uniform recess detai and receive code: PSQ2 - Paster Edge Channe code: PSQ7 - Horizonta Singe Gazing Channe code: PSQ8 - Horizonta Doube Gazing Channe code: PSQ12 - Door Frame Head Adaptor Standard sef-tapping screws are utiised to secure these to the ceiing and was and shoud occur at approximatey 600mm centres. The profie may be either square cut or mitred to suit the situation. The other profies isted above are designed to insert into this channe and be secured using the recommended fixings. Sound Rating: For added sound reduction two strips of code: 342 Sef Adhesive Abutment Foam shoud be appied to the back of these channes at both was and ceiings. Jointing ceats code: 884, 885 and 886 may be utiised at mitred corners and joints page 4 of 12

11 10.0 Bubbe Gazed Dry Joint Instaation 10.1 Gass panes to be smoothed (poished) and a sma beve appied to the two vertica edges during manufacture Insta the first gazed pane and ensuring that it is eve and the eading edge is pumb, The eading vertica edge shoud then be ceaned to remove dust and grease Cut the bubbe dry joint profie to a ength that wi aow it to be tuck into both head and base auminium Poar channes Pee red protective tape, approximatey 150mm exposing the gue surface on the face to be bonded to the gass edge. Hoding the exposed gue surface cose to the gass and tucking sighty into the head channe carefuy aign with the gass fat edge between the beveed edges before ighty pressing in pace. Graduay pee away the red strip a portion at a time which wi hep to avoid the adhesive sticking prematurey to the gass, but at the same time aow you to aign the profie in position before pressing in pace Once the bubbe joint has been bonded to the gass eading edge do not remove the outer protective tape. Insta the next pane of bubbe joint and making sure that it is eve / pumb and that the gass to gass butt joint either side of the bubbe is parae. Do not remove outer tape 10.6 Then siding the gass pane away from the bubbe joint far enough that wi aow you to cean the new gass pane edge and the remove the outer bubbe joint adhesive protection tape. Side 10.7 The next stage is best carried out by two operatives, with one hoding a straight edge against the two panes of gass across the joint to ensure both panes are on the same pane particuary to assist to remove any possibe bow or miss aignment to then aow the second operative to sowy shuffed the gass pane back on to the bubbe joint and ensure good edge contact between the gass edge and adhesive tape. Side 10.8 The above detaied method of insuation shoud be repeated for a remaining gass panes to be instaed 11.0 Two Part Gazed Dry Joint Instaation (aternative) 11.1 Gass panes to be smoothed and a sma beve appied to the two vertica edges during manufacture. Whist instaing the gass, these vertica edges to be ceaned to remove dust or grease Insta gass panes and use 6mm thickness spacer bocks to ensure equa gap between both gass panes. page 10 of 12

12 11.3 Cut both dry joint profies to ength aowing for these to tuck into both head and base auminium Poar channes. Pee red protective tape from both edges of the femae profie but ony expose approximatey 600mm of the gue surface initiay. Ease this section into the gass joint tucking sighty into the head channe. Graduay pee away the red strip a portion at a time which wi hep to avoid the adhesive sticking to the gass, at the same time ease the profie between the joint from top to bottom taking care to avoid it sticking unti it is in position. Once this operation is competed and this profie tucked into the base channe, the mae profie is ready to insta. This may be easier for two operatives to insta with one each side of the system. Whist one person runs their thumb down the instaed profie, the other can ease the other profie into the first unti the head of this eement contacts the surface of the gass panes. The gass can now be shuffed together to ensure good edge contact between the gass edges and adhesive tapes. It may be necessary to ensure both gass panes are on the same pane particuary if they are sighty bowed For 90 degree and 135 degree gass junctions, it is necessary to utiise adjustabe corner gass suckers to ensure the gass gap is constant through its height. Note The pastic mae profie is suppied as per figure 1 which must be separated engthwise. The shorter nai being for most joint situations, the onger for 90 degree situations in particuar, as the joint is effectivey deeper. bend to break apart figure 1 page 11 of 12
