Donegal County Childcare Committee (DCCC) considers access to opportunities for continuing professional development (CPD) as central to supporting and building on quality early childhood care and education practice. Certificates In recognition of the importance of CPD to your work practice, DCCC will provide all participants with a certificate of attendance for inclusion in your professional development profile/record of achievement. 3 Planning with Aistear (Part 2) This workshop is designed for those with an in-depth knowledge of Aistear who are planning under the four themes. It will provide a more intensive look at the learning aims and goals and how to identify these in practice. Participants on the training must have completed FETAC level 5. (Participants must complete Aistear Part 1, before completing Part 2) Date: Thursday 5th February Time: 6.30pm 9.30pm Cost: 20 per person/ 50 for a group of 3 On completion of both workshop 1 and 2 participants will have gained a sound knowledge base to support them in continuing on to the Building Pictures of Learning training. Supporting Aistear Through Quality Early Learning Environments ED Date: Tuesday 20th and Tuesday 27th January (In Conjunction with Donegal Childcare Network ) Time: 7.00pm 9.00pm OK Donegal Town BO FU LL Y Date: Thursday 5th Febraury (Part 2 Only ) Time: 6.30pm 8.30pm The moving on transition statement from pre-school to primary school was developed as part of the Donegal County Childcare,PPP Project.This workshop will support educators to complete this new transition tool in a strength based approach. It will also support early childhood educators working with with children, parents and teachers that are moving on from preschool to primary school. Early Childhood Educators must have completed Building Pictures of Learning training to attend. Date: Tuesday 10th and 24th March Time: 2.00pm 4.00pm Building Pictures of Learning Quality Early Learning Environments will explore some of the key pillars of quality in planning and resourcing the indoor and outdoor learning environment of your early childhood setting. Topics covered include how to plan your room layout, age appropriate interest areas, meaningful representation of children, open ended and natural learning resources. Moving on - Supporting Transitions from Pre-school to Primary Programme INIS EOGHAIN Date: Thursday 26th February & Thursday 5th March Time: pm Building Pictures of Learning is a practical programme that aims to assist early childhood care and education services to implement meaningful assessment procedures to inform, support and enhance children s learning and development. The Learning Story Approach underpins the programme and is used as an effective, child-learning and development tool, which informs the provision of appropriate learning opportunities and reveals the uniqueness of the young child as a learner. Early Childhood Educators must be trained to FETAC Level 5 and have completed Aistear Part 1 & 2 workshop to attend the training. Date: Time: Cost: Donegal Town Tuesday 10th,17th, 24th February and Tuesday 3rd March 2.00pm 4.30 pm 35 per person or 110 per group of 4 Building Pictures of Learning training is delivered over two four week blocks, one during the Spring/Summer term and the other in Autumn/Winter term. Participants must attend both blocks of training to receive a certificate.

4 Exploring Aistear s Well Being theme through Buntus Programme Refresher Workshop This 3 hour workshop will explore how to support Aim 2 of the learning goals within Aistears Well-being theme which focus on physical health, skills, awareness and development. The workshop is ideal for early educators, who have access to a Buntús Start bag of resources but have not completed the Buntús training; have completed the Buntús Start training programme but would like to refresh the training; who do not have a Buntús Start pack but would like to participate in a Buntús Start based workshop and buy their own resources Date: Wednesday 22nd April Time: 6.30pm 9.30pm Cost: 20 per person/ 50 for a group of 3 Naíonáin le Chéile: Early Childhood, Identity and Belonging Programme Naíonáin le Chéile is a new programme developed by Donegal County Childcare to support early childhood educators working with children 0-5 years around the areas of diversity, individuality and identity. The programme uses practical and meaningful activities to promote a sense of belonging to County Donegal, through the mediums of art and drama. Date: Friday 13th and Saturday 14th Febraury Time: Friday pm and Saturday pm Cost: per person or 100 per group of 4 Keeping Safe, Children First Child Protection Training During 2010 the Keeping Safe Programme underwent a significant revision which amalgamated an additional module on disability awareness - which raises awareness of disability issues and child protection. This training is for Early Educators who have not yet completed the full Children First Child Protection Training. DCCC s courses will be allocated on a first come first served basis to those who return a booking form with accompanying course fee. Please note that attendees will receive a certificate of attendance on completing a full course (to add to your record of Continuous Professional Development). If you are unable to attend a course, please notify the DCCC at least five working days prior to the course start date. Failure to notify DCCC in the given timeframe will result in the loss of your payment. You will need to re-apply should you wish to attend the course on the next scheduled date. If a course is cancelled you will be notified as soon as possible. Your fee can be transferred to book another course, or you can have a full refund.
