3 How to join a corse at The College Once yo have selected yor corse it cold not be easier to join. Alongside each corse is a key that tells yo how to apply f yor corse. Follow the diagram below to show how yo can join yor corse of choice. step 1 Fill in an application fm and attend an interview assessment Once we have received yor application we will send yo an appointment f yor interview and, if reqired, yor Maths and assessment. The interview gives yo the chance to meet the tt and ask any qestions yo might have abot the corse. All learners are reqired to pay an admission fee of 10, which reserves yor place on the corse. Once the interview and any reqired assessment is completed yo will be notified the otcome of yor application. If sccessfl, yor offer will be either nconditional conditional: Unconditional Offer If yo have an nconditional offer yo will be able to enrol at yor interview session. Conditional Offer A conditional offer means that we will offer yo a place if yo meet certain criteria, which are sally on exam reslts. Yo will be reqired to bring yor exam reslts to or enrolment sessions in Agst. step 2 Trn p to one of or enrolment sessions from the end of Agst. MENT At or enrolment session yo will complete or enrolment fm and have yor photograph taken f yor stdent badge and arrange any financial assistance, free meals and transpt. All learners are reqired to pay an administration fee of 10 (if not previosly paid at interview stage). Please make sre yo bring along with yo any proof of benefits that yor hosehold may be entitled to exam reslts yo were awaiting. step 3 Enrol in Agst Start yor corse! corses start week commencing the 2nd September 2013, whilst part corses will start week commencing 9th September Grants and Fees Assembly Learning Grant The Assembly Learning Grant provides sppt to help people from low-income families to access and remain in Frther and Higher Edcation. It is intended to help with yor stdies. learners cold be eligible f a grant p to 1,500 and 750 f part learners. To qalify yo mst be 19 years over, on the 1st September 2013; in receipt of a family income of 18,370 less (sbject to change, crect at of print) and following a recognised corse at the College. Financial Contingency Fnd The Financial Contingency Fnd (FCF) can provide financial help to learners who are experiencing difficlties as a reslt of low income. In particlar, it serves to help those individals to pay f nrsery fees, examinations, kits and safety eqipment f practical corses. Application fms are available from Stdent Services at The College. All applications are means-tested; evidence of benefits Wking Family Tax Credits will need to be provided. The Financial Contingency Fnd priitises certain categies payments. These can be seen on the Financial Contingency Fnd policy. F me infmation on grants please contact Stdent Services on Payment of s (tition, registration, materials and exam fees) Payment of corse fees may be paid by cash, cheqes, debit / credit card. Up to date corse costs can be fond at by calling the admissions team. Are yo in receipt of benefits? If so, yo may be entitled to a 100% redction in corse costs. Yo will need to bring valid proof of yor entitlements (dated within 3 months of the start of yor corse) along to enrolment to qalify. Administration Fee All learners will be expected to pay a 10 administration fee at yor interviewv/enrolment session. Paying by Instalments F total corse costs exceeding 300, payment can be arranged in three instalments. The first payment will be taken at enrolment and the remaining two payments by direct debit in November and December. (This excldes Higher Edcation corses; payment details are available on reqest). Employer Sponsed s Employers can be invoiced by the college. Evidence needed to athise this facility can either be a company letter stating the learners details and athisation of fees by completing an Employer Payment Fm which is available from the MIS faclty; this has to be athised by the yor company befe enrolment. International Learners International learners at The College following a fll Frther Edcation corse are charged 5,250 per year. International learners mst satisfy the College of Visa and other reglations, governed by the Bder Agency. ReAct Fnding ReAct fnding is available if yo have recently been made redndant. 4 Access to Higher Edcation Access corses are aimed at adlts with significant life experience otside of who want to go to University bt don t have the necessary qalifications to apply. Access is a recognised and spptive way to retrn to learning and stdy a range of sbjects and skills that will eqip yo f Higher Edcation. An Access corse is a fast and intense learning experience, bt one that is enjoyable and rewarding.
