2 2 Objectives - to instill disciplined savings habits in young people. - to educate students on the principles of customer management and service ; how to work with other people and develop a sense of responsibility. - to encourage students to wisely spend their time on activities beneficial to the society as a whole. - to support educational institutions in running activities beneficial to students. - to develop good relationship among the young people, school and GSB.

3 3 Nature of the School-based Banking - A model bank operated by students with support by teachers and GSB staff. - Provision of deposit (savings deposit) and withdrawal services for the students. - Each student deposits their money with school bank while each school opening one account with the Bank s supervisory branch.

4 4 Structure of School-based Banking Responsible GSB branch (the branch providing administrative support) Advisory teacher Student acting as Bank Manager Student who does Data Input Student acting as Accountant Student acting as Cashier Student acting as Customer Service Officers

5 5 Eligible School - The principal of school s awareness of importance of the project. - The school s focus on importance of students learning through actual experience. - Provision of space and equipment for the school bank office. - A minimum of 1,000 students.

13 13 School bank s Activities School Bank Sports Project To gave a chance to students who were members of school bank by supporting sport activity to make them be strong, use leisure time beneficially, get more experience and skills, work in team in order to become Excellent Students life. This project is aimed to Learn to Win, Learn to loose, Learn to Forgive and Compromise which can be used in everyday School bank members will be valuable Human Resources for society.

14 14 School Bank Sports Project In 2012, there were more than 500 school banks members around the country for the sport competition which consisted of 9 type sports as followings : 1. Football 2. Street Basketball 3. Volleyball 4. Athletics 5. Thai Ball Game 6. petanque 7. Badminton 8. Table Tennis 9. Tennis

15 15 School bank s Activities School Bank Musical Project This Project is to promote students to learn, practice their musical skills to be a professional and have an opportunity to be more competitive arena. Besides, Thai youth will get more experience tenderness and spiritual aesthetic.

17 17 School bank s Activities Thailand Mathematics Evaluation (TME) project for the Secondary School TME Project is a co-operation between the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology and GSB. This is to develop knowledge in solving Mathematical problems for Secondary School Students. Besides, There is a report of all ranking students attending the project. It is separated to level of school, province, region and country. The report of solving mathematical problems is separated in basic and applied and behavior. Therefore, students, parents and teacher can bring this report to improve their mathematic skills.

18 18 Thailand Mathematics Evaluation (TME) Thai students passing the examination can join educational tour in Republic of Korea (South Korea). There will be the exchange of knowledge and experiences between Thai and Korean students; and also the educational tour to study local culture and the living of local residents.

19 19 In Conclusion the School-based Banking project has made tremendous and positive improvement as part of social contribution among the young people of Thailand exceeding expectation. the Discipline and Skills acquired through the School-based Banking project has not only helped the students and others involved to be more mature, responsible, but also good members of the society. It is expected that the program will be even more successful in the future as the project has witnessed a considerable increase in the participation of people in all walks of the society in Thailand.
