In electrical and electronic eqipment six sbstances are particlarly severely controlled: - Lead (Pb) - Mercry (Hg) - Cadmim (Cd) - Hexavalent Chromim (Cr 6+ ) - Polybromobiphenyl (PBB) - Polybromodiphenyl Ether (PBDE) All of them might be sed in electric and electronic devices and components or their manfactring. While reglations exist, limiting the se of these chemicals, there are risks since some prodcts are exempt and others may be with borderline vales, depending on components sed. 5 Who condcts the tests? All tests are condcted by an IECEE HS (Hazardos Sbstances) laboratory in accordance with IEC 62321, the International Standard that provides the testing criteria for six reglated sbstances (lead, mercry, cadmim, hexavalent chromim polybrominated biphenyls, polybrominated diphenyl ethers). All testing laboratories are competent in the testing and measrement of hazardos sbstances to IEC and familiar with the nderlying work by IEC TC (Technical Committee) 111: Environmental standardization for electrical and electronic prodcts and systems. Sch testing laboratories are evalated on an on going basis to assess their methodology and relevant measrement ncertainties. What do yo get?
