As an evening stdent yo may find yorself ptting classroom lessons to work on the job days or even hors after first learning them. As the Triad s first MBA program specifically created for working professionals, the Bryan Evening MBA provides the flexibility and opportnities that working professionals need to be more sccessfl now and to boost their careers later. In the Evening MBA, yo ll find yorself in the classroom with a range of professionals from different fnctional areas and different organizations. That means that from day one yo ll start to expand yor professional network. Classes meet one night a week, typically from 6:30 p.m. to 9:20 p.m., Monday throgh Thrsday. Stdents can choose to enroll in as many corses or as few as they can handle each semester. Stdents start ot with the MBA Base Camp, a series of intense workshops designed to sharpen compter skills and to help develop the distinct leadership style yo ll hone over the 21-month program. Dring the first year, stdents take classes that expose them to all aspects of global bsiness management throgh classroom lectres and case stdies. The niversity is able to help stdents find smmer internships, throgh partnerships with local and international corporations and nonprofits. An internship will strengthen yor resme. It also provides opportnities to apply what yo ve stdied in the classroom to real-world bsiness challenges. The second year contines with more specialized classes. Stdents often prse a concentration to bild deep expertise in one area of bsiness, sch as marketing or finance. 3 REAL WORLD EXPERIENCES AT HOME AND ABROAD Every Bryan MBA stdent is niqe. Yor skills, needs and aspirations are different from every other stdent, so the Bryan MBA provides options that allow yo to tailor yor edcation to best sit yor interests and goals. CONCENTRATIONS Bryan MBA stdents in both the Day and Evening programs can choose one of for concentrations that allow them to stdy specific bsiness disciplines in greater depth. Stdents take a minimm of nine hors of electives. Marketing Stdents have the opportnity to learn abot international marketing management, stdy consmer behavior in depth, get an overview of brand management and learn more abot marketing research. Finance In the finance concentration stdents can focs on investment and portfolio analysis, financial statement analysis and secrity valation, corporate governance, and financial markets and instittions. The Power of OPTIONS Information Technology IT stdents have several options, from data management and web programming to information secrity and privacy, as well as project management. Spply Chain Spply chain management electives allow stdents to focs on sbjects that are central to the modern, global economy. Stdents learn abot global spply operations strategy; transportation, logistics and distribtion management; and strategic cost, design, procrement and contracts, among other sbjects. DUAL DEGREES The Bryan School, in partnership with other UNCG schools, offers dal degrees. An MBA/MSN degree is offered in partnership with the School of Nrsing. An MBA/MS in Gerontology is also offered, and is one of the few programs of its kind in the contry. CERTIFICATES By taking additional corses beyond elective reqirements, MBA stdents may earn Post- Baccalareate Certificates. Stdents are pt into teams that work with area bsinesses and nonprofit organizations to tackle real-world problems. The capstone experience is a live, real-world conslting engagement. Bryan MBA Evening stdents work as a team on an intensive simlation which provides many of the same challenges as the capstone experience. Bryan MBA conslting teams have: Created a new set of tools and methods to manage prchasing projects more efficiently for the Volvo Grop, a global manfactrer of constrction eqipment, trcks and bses that has prodction facilities in 19 contries. Researched the mobile commercial feling market for Gilbarco Veeder-Root, the leader in retail and commercial feling and payment eqipment, and developed new lanch and bsiness development strategies. Developed a more efficient way of delivering price qotes to sales teams for TE Connectivity, a $14 billion manfactring company that makes more than 500,000 prodcts. Helped Amarr, one of the largest garage-door manfactrers in the Western Hemisphere, assess its marketing plan and develop strategies to hit three-year revene targets in its largest sales channel. GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE No bsiness operates in a vacm, and all bsinesses, organizations and commnities are affected by what happens arond the world. The Bryan MBA crriclm is not only infsed with a global perspective, it also offers stdents first-hand global experiences. Semesters Abroad The Bryan School has partnerships with more than 40 niversities arond the world that provide stdents a chance to stdy abroad for a semester and immerse themselves in the cltre of another contry. Semesters abroad are available in Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Mexico, Scotland and Hong Kong, among other nations. One-Week Corses These faclty-led one-week trips abroad, held dring semester breaks, provide stdents a chance to tor bsinesses in other contries, experience the cltre first hand, and learn abot the challenges and opportnities of operating globally. Evening stdents who are nable to participate in a trip abroad work on a project with a mltinational company to gain insights into the challenges of international bsiness. 4 INTERNSHIPS Experience and Exploration A critical part of the Bryan MBA is providing stdents opportnities to apply their new skills and knowledge to real problems. The Bryan School manages a smmer internship program for Day MBA stdents, which provides opportnities to work in organizations of all types. Evening MBA stdents also have opportnities for internships if their individal circmstances allow. Stdents earn academic credit for internships and have opportnities to explore career interests while getting a taste of life inside varios companies. Internships sometimes lead to frther opportnities for part-time employment dring the second year of the MBA and often lead to post-gradation jobs. The Bryan School maintains relationships with companies in the Greensboro area and arond the world that provide internship opportnities to Bryan stdents. The Career Services staff told me abot an internship at Syngenta, helped me create a strong resme and coached me before my interview. The internship led to me getting a job offer from Syngenta before I even gradated, and I ve been promoted three times since then. The Bryan MBA prepared me to tackle the challenges Syngenta faces everyday. AFTER GRADUATION Career Services & the Almni Network CAREER SUPPORT THAT STARTS ON DAY 1 At the Bryan School, Career Services partners with stdents from the day yo enter the program to spport yor shortterm and long-term career goals. Career Services provides one-on-one career conseling, advanced online resorces, and specialized programs to help stdents navigate their career path.
