1 This is the motto for the new edition of Comenius. It aims to make young people aware of the importance of training both the body and the mind; as well as this we have found some statistic about our school our Country that we ll show you in the next slides. Regarding our school, we surveyed our peers and we got their opinions. Mens sana in corpore sano....for us.

4 MONDOVI Is located between mountains, hills, and plains and is divided in 3 parts: Piazza, the highest and most ancient part of the city Breo, the old town full of shops and other types of entertainment. And finally Altipiano, the youngest part of the city with parks and residential areas

13 SAMIRA Hello! I m Samira and I m 20 years old! I come from Burkina Faso, but I live in Italy since I was 6. I ve got a brother older than me and two sisters younger than me. In my free time I like being a model for my best friend Diego.
14 DALILA Hi! My name is Dàlila and I m 17 years old. I have a sister who is 4 years old, her name is Bùa. She s my mother, Antonella; and he s my father, Ivo. In my free time I love travelling, having party and going shopping. I have a dream, I d like to live in Thailandia. In this photo there are me and my BBF Cristina.
15 SAMANTA Hi! I m Samanta, I m 17 years old and I live near Mondovì. In my spare time I love staying with my friends and listening to music. I really like going to shopping.
16 ANISA Yoo guys! I m Anisa and I m 16 years old, but I m getting 17 on the 1 november. I live in Mondovì, but my family and I are from Albania. They are my parents Majlinda and Kastriot, who made a fantastic person, me!! He s my brother Egert. He s 23! I ve also a cat, called Milù. In my free time I listen to music, especially House & Dance musci, music is my passion, the only thing that make me feel free! I try to produce and write song, and usually I go out with my friends or surf in Internet. Peace and Music!! Byeee

18 ITALY & FREE TIME In Italy, according to statistics teenagers: Listen to music 30% Do sport 23% Have fun 14% Go to cinema 10% Study 9% Motors 7% Art 3% Politics 2% Voluntary Work 2% In their free time.
19 ITALY & MEDITERRANEAN DIET The Mediterranean Diet is inspired by traditional cooking from Italy, France, Greece, Spain and Arabia. The diet is based especially on: - cereal like barley, spelt, mais and oat; - pulses like chickpeas, beans, peas and broad beans; - fresh fruits and vegetables in season; - meat and fish ; - eggs and milk products; - Sweets are eaten once - twice a week.
20 PIEDMONT The region Piemonte is located in the North -West of Italy, its main town is Torino. The region is composed of 8 areas: Cuneo, Torino, Asti, Alessandria, Vercelli, Novara, Verbano, Biella.
21 SPORT In Piedmont physical activity is documented by ISTAT. The most popular sports are: Gymnastics (23,3%) Winter sports(22,3%) Swimming (21,9%) Soccer (18,3%) Gymnastics Swimming Winter sports Soccer

23 LOCAL FOOD Among the local specialities in Piedmont there are 363 typical products: 17 Alcoholic beverages, liquors and wine 70 fresh meats 55 different cheeses 101 plant products (chestnuts,herbs,strawberries, mushrooms, hazelnuts ) 100 fresh pastas, pastry (chocolate, biscuits, meliga pastries ) 7 types of honey (acacia ) Beverages Meats Cheeses Plants p. 24 One of the sports in our region is the pallapugno The pallapugno is played in a court 90x 14 m; on the left side there is a wall which the ball can hit. The two teams have 4 people on each side. Each player has a special wrap on his hand with which he must hit a ball of 190g; the ball can be hit in the air or after a bounce. The scoring is the same as in tennis : 15, 30, 40 After 11 games the team wins! the ball

27 The sport 73 % of 17-year-olds within our school do sports, 27% don t, saying they don't feel like it. Teens who do a sport do it about 2 hours per week. 27% How many students do sport. 73% Sport yes Sport no
28 When people, in Italy, were asked : In your opinion, is it important to do sport and to have a healthy lifestyle? unfortunately only 35% said yes! Instead at the Baruffi, our school, 83% said yes! It is a question of age?
29 Free time Most of 17-year-olds Prefer to spend their spare time with friends. Regarding a healthy lifestyle, more than 50% of us don t have a substantial breakfast in the morning but fortunately sleep at least 8 hours a day.
30 Study and technology We noticed also that most of us, even if we use mobiles and computers all day, don t want to be disturbed by technology during study time.
