1 NEWS RELEASE New MF 2200 Series Large Square balers from Massey Ferguson build on rock solid foundations With the introduction of the new MF 2200 Series large Square Balers, Massey Ferguson is further improving on the industry leading MF 2100 Series which has earned a tremendous reputation for outstanding performance, reliability and low cost of ownership. The new MF 2200 Series includes a new Packer Cutter for the MF 2240 and MF 2250 models, automatic chain lubrication, OptiForm bale chamber on the MF 2270 XD and MF 2290 models and a host of other new features to further enhance performance. Bale weighing and AGCOMMAND telemetry are also now available as options. These new balers inherit the superior design features of the MF 2100 Series and include the recent additions to the range the MF 2140 and MF 2170 XD models, says Mark Grigson, Product Marketing Manager Harvesting. As well as making dense, well-formed bales, they are renowned for their reliability and longevity. Designed and built in the Massey Ferguson factory in Hesston, Kansas, USA these large square balers are now established as the industry benchmark for bale size and weight as well as outstanding dependability. Indeed, the new MF 2270 XD s bale dimensions and extra density, packs in up to 20% more material than the standard MF 2270, means the bales are the optimum size and weight for transport, he says. The weight, density and height mean they can fully utilise the capacity of a truck s entire payload.

3 Wide choice of cutters to suit all operations With the launch of the MF 2200 Series balers, Massey Ferguson is introducing a new Packer Cutter option for the MF 2240 and MF 2250 models, which provides an efficient way of cutting crops to increase bale density and make bales easier to break up. The system, which is a hybrid of the existing Packer system and the full rotary Cutter, has a low power requirement and maintains throughput. The crop is cut by six, stationary and spring-loaded knives located in the packer chamber floor. Pairs of packer tines pull the crop over the knives that cut the crop as it passes. The existing Cutter specification is also available for all models. This well-proven feature increases bale density and makes the material easier and quicker to distribute in mixer wagons as well as improving feed digestibility. It uses a heavy duty rotor to force the crop from pick-up through 19 stationary knives unit, which cut the material to lengths of 48mm, 96mm or 156mm, depending on the numbers of knives engaged (11 on MF 2240 and MF 2250 models). In Packer specification balers the crop is fed from the pick-up by rotating packer forks, which provide a positive feed to the pre-compression chamber. This, straight-forward system provides reliable, high capacity feeding to ensure maximum baling performance. Bale weighing option increases accuracy The recently introduced Integrated Bale Weighing System (IBWS) is an option that operates through the C1000 Baler Monitor. With this system operators can monitor individual, average and total bale weights, which provides the great benefit of enabling contractors to buy straw or sell forage by the precise tonnage, rather than on a per bale or area basis. Another significant advantage of weighing the bales is it allows operators to reduce costs by achieving maximum truck payloads, without the risk of overloading.

4 AGCOMMAND keeps track of work All MF 2200 balers come AGCOMMAND-really, allowing fast and easy installation of this valuable telemetry option, which collects and transmits data relating to the machine s location, settings and performance. Information about the baling operation is stored by a data logger on the machine, which is connected to a GPS antenna and GSM telephone module. This data, with position information, is then transmitted via the mobile phone network to a secure AGCO server. From here owners and operators can view the information, in near real time, through a password protected webpage on a PC, smart phone or tablet. The system does not require any extra software and works fully automatically, with the operator working normally and the data is transferred in the background. This system delivers valuable fleet management information on, for example, location, working status, alarms and maintenance alerts, as well as efficiency and productivity. AGCOMMAND Advanced collects a huge amount of information from the CANBUS to provide greater depth and detailed machine analysis. This is information is quickly and easily collated into a very beneficial Field Summary Report - this shows the field and crop details, bale count along with the number of flakes/bale. On machines equipped with the Integrated Bale Weighing System it also shows bale weight and moisture and a summary of field efficiencies. Much of the data can also be displayed on a field map.

5 Standard auto-chain lube eases maintenance Automatic chain lubrication, now standard on all MF 2200 Series balers, will further improve reliability and reduce daily maintenance for operators. The system provides regular oiling of the packer, cutter, stuffer and knotter chains. Operators can set the set the frequency of the oil supply via the C1000 Baler Monitor, which meters the oil to special brushes touching the chains covering the full width of the chain links ensuring oil gets to where it is needed. Even better bale formation The new OptiForm bale chamber on the MF 2270 XD and MF 2290 models is up to 20% longer than that on the MF 2100 Series, which further improves the bale shape and delivers uniform density throughout the length of the bale. This ensures flakes are evenly formed across the whole height and width, resulting in better bale formation, shape and density. Selectable length bale ejector, which is new on all MF 2200 Series balers, allows operators to determine the length of the bale left in the chamber that will be ejected. This is set with a lever on the left-hand side that selects the number of rows of ejector teeth to discharge the bale. A new option allows bale length to be set electronically on the C1000 Baler Monitor. This makes it easier for operators, particularly when frequently switching between different fields and crops.

6 New 620/ radial tyres and even stronger tandem axles To permit fitting of larger wheel equipment, all tandem axle MF 2270 XD and MF 2290 balers will have uprated axles. The new, optional 620/ tyres are designed to cope with wet, arduous conditions and also help to significantly reduce fuel consumption when travelling on soft ground. This flotation tyre option is available on the smaller balers in the range. All the MF 2200 Series balers, apart from the MF 2270 XD, are also available with a single axle. Also, to allow easier fitting to tractors with Cat 3 and Cat 4 drawbar pins, the MF 2200 Series is equipped with a new ball hitch with interchangeable sleeves to accommodate both sizes. These are changed easily by simply removing a circlip and fitting the required sleeve. Hydraulic parking jack option A hydraulic parking jack is a new option that is particularly helpful for operators who frequently hitch-up and disconnect balers. Fitted to left-hand side of the drawbar, its hydraulic couplers are connected simply into a double acting spool valve.
