5 QUANTUM On the right track from the word go. Bottom hitching as alternative. You can equip your QUANTUM with either a bottom hitching and hitching ring or with a ball-head attachment. The special shape of the new drawbar provides maximum clearance to both the drive shaft and to the tractor tyres when turning. The additional central support of the tine arms grants maximum reliability, therefore highest idle times. Height-adjustable castor guide wheels as standard. The pendulous castor guide wheels mounted to the side, are designed to follow on and do not grind even in tight corners. They provide optimal alignment of the pick-up to the ground and act as shock absorbers. For clean crop intake, the height of the pick-up can be precisely adjusted according to the crop, stubble height, and uneven ground, using a perforated bar. Precise crop pick-up 7

On the QUANTUM models, the cutting rotor can be fully opened or closed for maintenance and cleaning operations via two switches positioned on the side of the loader wagon. 20 Almost fully automated and really simple. The sophisticated ISOBUS steering system in all QUANTUM models from the 4700 upwards provides the basis for a fully relaxed driving experience. A wide range of automated processes and functions make the loader wagon easy to operate. With this technology, QUANTUM can be operated via the CLAAS COMMUNICATOR or via any ISOBUS-compatible control terminal. You can switch from transport mode to the automatic loading or discharging functions at the push of a button. Then everything will work almost automatically. During loading, the front wagon is dropped down and the pick-up is lowered into working position. The automatic loading function of all P-series and S- series is controlled via two key positions on the loader wagon. Reliable angle sensors, which are integrated into the metal top, activate and deactivate the floor conveyor. On the spur gearbox, a power plug gauge measures the torque at the drive line as an option. When loading is completed, the QUANTUM automatically switches all functions to transport position. The sprung bar is actuated in connection with an angle sensor. 20

For the driver, effective forage harvesting means paying great attention on what's happening behind the tractor. The CLAAS QUANTUM models enable the driver to maintain a clear focus by providing automated sequences as well as numerous programmed safety and monitoring functions. Acoustic and visual warning signals for safety functions such as e.g. "Cutter chamber open". Acoustic and visual display of maintenance and lubrication intervals. Optional for S wagons equipped with three discharge rollers, and exclusive to CLAAS: the filling level sensor, which is integrated in the tailgate, reliably ensures that the filling level of the wagon can be accurately read from the display. 22 Isn't it great, when everything is so easy. Transparent to the smallest detail. The professional data recording enables you to process your orders with the individual customer in mind. You can create up to 20 files for every single yeild or customer. For every single one of these orders, the number of wagon loads and the time required can be recorded. Silage additives - exactly dispensed. The QUANTUM provides external dosage units of silage additives with the relevant signal via the control terminal. Precise and low-loss metered addition of silage additives at the right time ensures optimum silage quality. 22

23 Comfortable - in any case. When changing from transport to loading mode, the QUANTUM automatically switches all functions to working position and vice versa. Automatic locking of the steering axle when the tailgate is open. Automatic loading is activated by sensors on the metal top: As soon as the crop begins to push the metal top upwards, the scraper floor switches on and conveys the crop backwards at a preselected speed. When the roof panels lower again, the scraper floor switches off automatically. Depending on the moisture content of the crop, automatic filling can also optionally be activated by a reduction of the torque on the spur gear - for optimum forage quality and reduced power requirements. An additional lighting kit with automatic activation of load compartment lighting and the reversing lights on opening the tailgate is available as an option for all loader wagons.. Side pressure sheets at the front of the moulded platform gates which absorb and distribute any forces occurring here. Scraper floor with four rugged chains and separate offset U-shaped slats The scraper floor is driven by a powerful hydraulic motor Intelligent control. When loading, the scraper floor is disengaged by a sensor in the lower metering roller. At the same time, the control terminal indicates to the driver that the loading bay is full. You engage the "discharge" function, the tailgate opens, the trailing axle is locked automatically and the metering rollers and scraper floor are engaged. 24

Two different settings can be made with no effort: Opening the complete tailgate: The whole tailgate opens up, the crop is swiftly offloaded. Important over short clamps! Opening of the lower semi section only with the upper section staying closed. The crop falls downwards vertically and forms an even mat. Safety with a capital S: the tailgate lowers due to its own weight, but stops if there is an obstruction. Just a few centimetres before the catch, the hydraulics are engaged and the tailgate is powered shut and locked. 26
