In This Chapter SSL Certificates Provisioning... 4 Plesk 10 Support... 6 Integration with Parallels Operations Automation... 7 Hosting Plans Upgrade Rules... 8 New License Keys are Available... 8 New Events... 8 SSL Certificates Provisioning The main purpose of a certificate is to establish the identity of website through a trusted third party (the issuer of the certificate). Certificates are issued by certificate authorities (CA). The ability of establishing connection to Certificate Authority (CA) and getting SSL certificates is implemented in PBAS as pluggable modules (plug-ins). SSL certificates are sold as standalone service. SSL certificates are installed manually. SSL Hosting Plans: SSL offerings are configured as hosting plans of SSL type. Each SSL hosting plan offers a particular SSL product provided by a particular Certificate Authority. SSL Transaction Log: To facilitate SSL certificates management, SSL transaction log is implemented. SSL certificates transaction log shows operation performed over a certificate and operation status in real time. SDK: API methods used for new SSL plug-ins development are implemented. SSL plug-ins implemented: enom SSL. SSL certificates provisioning and renewal are automated. Serves for manual SSL certificate provisioning and testing. Supported modes: No certificate generated. Fake certificate. The plug-in creates some text instead of a certificate, for example, "TEST CERTIFICATE". Self-signed. The Dummy plug-in creates a self-signed certificate basing on contact data entered. SSL plug-ins are shipped as RPM modules independent from Parallels Business Automation - Standard functionality. Note: Internationalized domain names (IDNs) are not supported for SSL certificates generation. The ability for customers to generate CSR in online store is set up in SSL hosting plans. 6 New Features 6 Plesk 10 Support Parallels Plesk Panel 10.1 is supported by Parallels Business Automation - Standard: Selling Plesk Shared hosting (Plesk Clients and Plesk Domains subscriptions). Selling Parallels Virtuozzo Containers with Parallels Plesk Panel 10.1 pre-installed and automatically provision Parallels Plesk Panel 10.1 licenses. According to Plesk 10.1 redesign, PBAS provisioning logic has been redesigned. For Plesk Domain hosting plan, customer and webspace are provisioned. For Plesk Client hosting plan, reseller is created with webspaces; webspaces can be then assigned to customers. The feature does not require documentation updates since all the existing functionality related to Parallels Plesk Panel is applicable to Parallels Plesk Panel Refer to PBAS Provider's guide and Parallels Plesk Panel 10.1 documentation.

7 New Features 7 Integration with Parallels Operations Automation PBAS allows establishing connection to servers that run Parallels Operations Automation (POA) and provisioning POA services to customers. Starting from 4.0 version, PBAS supports POA with hotfix ( ) installed. POA Service Templates and Resources: POA service templates and resources are configured at POA node and then synchronized with PBAS. Synchronization can be scheduled or executed manually on demand. POA Hosting Plans: Hosting plans are created in PBAS on the basis of POA service templates. POA Subscriptions: According to subscription purchased in store, services and domains are provided by PBAS to customer in POA. DNS Synchronization: Master name server is managed by PBAS. PBAS gets domain records from POA and merges them with existing domain zones supplied by Parallels Plesk Panel, Parallels Virtuozzo Containers, etc. Customer Control Panel: POA Control Panel is integrated with PBAS Customer Control Panel. POA services can be managed directly from PBAS Customer Control Panel. POA Services: POA integration allows service providers to sell new services via PBAS: MS Hosted Exchange. Coming soon: MS SharePoint. SaaS Remote Services (OpenXchange, BackupAgent, etc). Distributed Shared Hosting. SaaS Web Applications (APS applications). MS Dynamics CRM. 8 New Features 8 Hosting Plans Upgrade Rules A hosting plan can be upgraded to compatible hosting plans (by type, subscription periods, resources). Compatibility check is performed automatically. Hosting plan Upgrade Rule option allows limiting a set of hosting plans that are compatible for upgrade. By default, it is allowed to upgrade to any of the compatible hosting plans. Upgrade rules take effect in customer Control Panel: when customers select plans available for upgrade, compatible plans are filtered accordingly. PBAS online help. In Provider Control Center go to Billing Director > Product Manager > Hosting Plans, select the hosting plan, then select the Upgrade Rule tab, click Help.
