3 Introduction The APTA Learning Center is a Web-based application that provides one-stop access to help you manage your lifelong learning. Through the APTA Learning Center, you ll have instant access to online courses, a comprehensive continuing education transcript, the ability to generate certificates of completion, and tools to help you track your career development. About This Guide This document provides participants of the PT CPI with basic knowledge for using the APTA Learning Center. You will not learn everything about the APTA Learning Center, but you will know enough to be comfortable navigating the system in order to complete the PT CPI training module. Why should I use the APTA Learning Center for the PT CPI training? The PT CPI training program transitioned to the APTA Learning Center because it allows YOU, the user: 1. Immediate feedback about your performance on the assessment, including incorrect responses and guidance as to which modules to review, 2. An ability to print your own CEU certificate to meet licensure requirements, 3. A more interactive and consistent look to the training program, and 4. Notification through the system. In addition, once you successfully complete the PT CPI assessment with a score of 70% or higher, Academic Management Systems (AMS) is notified so they may provide you with access to the PT CPI Web. All of these enhancements are provided free to you as a requirement to access the PT CPI Web. What is required of me to use this system? You will need to complete several steps in order to access the learning modules. 1. If you are a current APTA member or a current APTA customer, you will need to log into APTA s Learning Center using the same username and password used to access the APTA Web site. 2. If you have never been an APTA member or an APTA customer, you will need to complete a one-screen information page with required fields (denoted by * or **) to create a username and password to access the APTA Learning Center. You only need to do this once and you can use the same username and password to purchase additional courses in the future. 3. All users need to use the shopping cart to purchase this course, regardless of the fact that the course is FREE! Just follow the steps included in this manual to purchase this course. 4. That s it! Now you can review the 5 modules and complete the online assessment. Page 3 of 18
