3 FACULTY PROFILES STACEY BOWERS Outreach & Access Services Librarian, University of Denver Westminster Law Library Stacey Bowers has been a librarian at the University of Denver Westminster Law Library since June She is also an adjunct professor in the M.L.I.S. program at University of Denver and in the University of Denver's Strum College of Law. Prior to joining the library, Stacey practiced law for 14 years. Stacey received her B.S. in Business/Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh in 1988, her J.D. from the University of Denver in 1992 and her M.L.I.S. from the University of Denver in She is currently a PhD student in the Curriculum & Instruction program at DU. Stacey is a member of the American Association of Law Libraries and the Colorado Association of Law Libraries. ALICIA BRILLON Reference Librarian, University of Colorado Law Library Alicia Brillon has been a librarian at the University of Colorado Law Library since August Prior to becoming a law librarian, she worked as in-house counsel for a number of technology companies in Seattle, and most recently was Associate Counsel at Amazon.com for three years. She then obtained her Masters in Library and Information Sciences degree from the University of Washington. She is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the American Association of Law Libraries and the Colorado Association of Law Libraries. Alicia obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Washington in 1989 and her Juris Doctor from Seattle University in ANDREA HAMILTON Research Librarian, Faegre & Benson LLP Andrea Hamilton has been a librarian at Faegre & Benson's Boulder office for seven years. Her previous library experience includes seven years at the Denver Public Library and two years as a research analyst for the Library Research Service of the Colorado State Library. Andrea received her Master of Library and Information Science degree from University of Denver. She is an active member of the Colorado Association of Law Libraries, which includes chairing the quarterly Legal Research Corner column committee for The Colorado Lawyer. MARGI HEINEN Manager of Library Services, Sherman & Howard L.L.C. Margi Heinen is the Manager of Library Services at Sherman and Howard in Denver. She has taught courses in Legal Resources at the University of Michigan's School of Information and at Wayne State University's School of Library and Information Science. She coauthors a column, Reference from Coast to Coast, on the Law Library Resource Exchange website ( She is a member of the Colorado Association of Law Libraries and the American Association of Law Libraries. Margi recently did a presentation for Portland, Oregon librarians on Copyright Issues in Libraries and was one of the faculty at the Institute for Paralegal Education's The Fundamentals of Legal Research and Analysis for Paralegals in Denver on March 31, Margi will be teaching the legal reference course in University of Denver's Library and Information Science program next year RACHEL KUIPERS Research Librarian, Faegre & Benson LLP Rachel Kuipers has been a librarian at Faegre & Benson's Denver office for three years. She received her Master of Library and Information Science degree from the University of Denver in She is an active member of the Colorado Association of Law Libraries and served as the Public Relations Chair during and was a member of the Nominations Committee in both 2007 and She is currently the Vice President/President Elect of CoALL. WANDA MCDAVID President, Access/Information, Inc. Wanda McDavid joined Access/Information in March She is now the President of the company. She is involved in client development, research, training and operations planning. As a consultant, former law librarian and information manager for international and regional law firms in Denver, Colorado, Ms. McDavid has managed multiple departments and served on various management committees. She has developed and promoted training sessions on the use of the Internet for legal research, and presented programs on legal research, business research and evaluating search engines both locally and nationally. Wanda has a Masters Degree in Information Management and Librarianship from the University of Denver.
4 ALAN PANNELL Head of Reference, University of Colorado Law Library Alan Pannell is a legal research instructor and Head of Reference at the University of Colorado law library in Boulder. Prior to joining the CU law faculty in October 2005, he served as a law library fellow at the University of Arizona, where he earned a Master's degree in Information Resources and Library Science. After receiving his J.D. from Western New England College in 1995, Alan worked as a staff attorney for the State Bar of New Mexico, where he launched and managed the Lawyers Care Pro Bono Project. He then served as Community Manager for the National Information Center for Educational Media in Albuquerque. Alan has served as member-at-large for the Colorado Association of Law Libraries Executive Board. SARA STANLEY Associate, Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP Sara Stanley is an associate in the Corporate Finance & Acquisitions group at Davis Graham & Stubbs. She represents companies in acquisition transactions and public and private placements of debt and equity securities. Sara graduated with a B.A. from Hamline University in 1998 and received her J.D. from the University of Denver in She is a member of the Colorado State Bar. MARIANN STORCK Legal Information Specialist, U.S. Attorneys Office For the past nine years, Mariann Storck has been the Legal Information Specialist at the U.S. Attorneys Office, Denver. She was, previously, the reference/cataloging librarian at Foley and Lardner's Milwaukee, WI office, manager of the Godfrey and Kahn libraries in Wisconsin, and manager of the Stoel Rives libraries in Portland, OR. She received her Master of Library Science degree with a specialty in law librarianship 21 years ago. Currently she serves on the Library Advisory Group for U.S. Attorney Offices nationwide for which she writes and edits a monthly e-newsletter.
