7 INEX 3 Consequence Management Exercises Need: Improve later-phase response arrangements Format: National table-top exercises focusing on laterphase decision-making after an event causing serious contamination (non-npp initiating scenarios) Goal: Understand challenges; compare practices; identify issues for investigation; formulate ways forward Objectives: agricultural/food countermeasures; soft countermeasures; recovery management; public info Conduct: / 15 countries (with/without NPPs) Trend towards broader range of participants, stakeholders Post-exercise evaluation workshop (May 2006): 26 countries (exercise participants/non-participants) Identify aspects of national decision-making which would benefit from international cooperation and coordination as part of preparedness
